Change default keyboard

 

To change the default keyboard, follow these steps:

Enter symbols & numbers

 

To enter symbols and numbers with the keyboard, follow these steps:

 

Numbers

  1. To enter a single number, press the Alt key at bottom-left of the keyboard and enter the single number.
  2. Note: Alt appears in the blue bubble then changes to abc after the single number is entered.
  3. To stay in number mode, press the Alt key two times and enter multiple numbers.
  4. Note: Alt_L appears in the blue bubble.
  5. Enter numbers by pressing the E, R, T, D, F, G, X, C, V, and 0 keys.
  6. If necessary, press the Alt key again to exit number (and symbol) mode.
  7. Note: abc will appear in the blue bubble.

 

Symbols

  1. From a text field, press the Sym key (two keys to the left of the Space key.
  2. Select Next to access more symbols and emoticons.
  3. Scroll to and select the desired symbol.

 

 

Text entry mode

 

To change the text entry or predictive text mode, follow these steps:

 

Predictive Text Mode – Turn On/Off

To enable or disable predictive text mode, follow these steps:

    1. From the Home screen, select Main Menu.
    2. Scroll to and select Settings.
    3. Scroll to and select Phone settings.
    4. To enable, scroll to and select T-9 Input to display ‘On.’
    5. To disable, scroll to and select T-9 Input to display ‘Off.’

 

Predictive Text Mode – Enter TextTo enter text using predictive text mode:

    1. Enter each letter of the desired word.
    2. When the word appears in the pop-up menu, scroll to and highlight the word.
    3. Press the Space key to select the word and to begin typing the next word.

 

Traditional Mode – Enter TextTo enter text using traditional mode:

    • Press each key containing the desired letter.
