Keyboard: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Change default keyboard

 

To change the default keyboard, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Tap Default.
  5. Tap one of the following options:
    • Samsung keypad
    • Swype

 

 

Enter symbols & numbers

 

To enter symbols and numbers with the keyboard, follow these steps:

 

Samsung keypad

  1. Tap the 123 key.
  2. Tap 1/3, 2/3, and 3/3 to see additional symbols.
  3. Tap the ABC key to return to letter entry.

Swype

  1. Tap the +!==#& key.
  2. Tap the More symbols key to see additional symbols.
  3. Tap the More symbols key again.
  4. Tap the 123 key to view more symbols.
  5. Tap the ABC key to return to letter entry.

 

 

Text entry mode

 

To change the text entry or predictive text mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Tap Default.
  5. Tap one of the following options:
    • Samsung keypad
    • Swype

To enable predictive text mode:

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Language and input.
    4. Tap the Settings icon next to the Samsung keypad.
    5. Tap to select the XT9 check box to turn on predictive text.

To enter text using predictive text mode:

    1. From an open keyboard, enter the desired word.
    2. Above the open keyboard, tap the desired predicted word.

To enable traditional mode:

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Language and input.
    4. Tap Configure input methods.
    5. Under Samsung keypad, tap Settings.
    6. Tap to clear the XT9 check box to turn off predictive text.

To enter text using traditional mode:

    1. Tap to enter each letter of the desired word.
