  • At least 256MB or RAM (memory)
  • Microsoft Windows® 2000 (SP4 or later) or Windows XP (SP1 or SP2) or Windows  Vista

Check the software version / issue

  1. Check the software version: enter *#0000# from the  main screen.
  2. Review the following information:

    • Only phones with software version 5.23 are affected and updating the  software resolves the issue.
    • Software version 5.60 and later is not affected. Nokia support has  determined that the following issues are related directly to the phone software:

      • Phone  reboots when using certain applications
      • Phone  reboots when using downloaded applications
      • Phone  reboots when sending picture message (MMS)
      • Hourglass icon over myFaves contact

Download the software update

Note: If you do not have the Nokia CA-53 USB cable, please contact us or  visit T-Mobile.com to order a  cable.

  1. From a computer, go to www.nokiausa.com/softwareupdate to download the NSU  application.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to download the NSU application to a  location on the computer.
  3. Note that it is strongly recommended to back up all user data before  updating the handset software. The NSU software fix deletes all customer data  (contacts, images, games, etc) from the handset memory.
