Battery saving mode

 

To turn on, turn off, or use battery life saving features on the device, follow these steps:

 

  1. If necessary, select all All from the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  2. Scroll to and select the Options icon.
  3. Select Device.
  4. Select Battery saving mode.
  5. To turn on, select Turn on Battery Saving Mode when battery power level is low to select the check box.
  6. If desired, select the Start when battery power is at or drops below field to adjust at what battery percentage the Battery Saving Mode will start.
    • Note: You can always keep Battery Saving Mode on by selecting Always on.
  7. To turn off, select Turn on Battery Saving Mode when battery power level is low to clear the check box.
  8. To save any changes, press the Menu key and then select Save.

Tips to save battery life

 

To save and extend battery life, follow these steps:

 

Lower screen brightness and timeout duration

  1. If necessary, select All on the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  2. Scroll to and select the Options icon.
  3. Select Display.
  4. Select Screen Display.
  5. Under Backlight, in the Backlight Brightness drop-down menu, select a brightness level.
  6. Under Backlight, in the Backlight Timeout drop-down menu, select a timeout duration.
  7. Press the Menu key.
  8. Select Save.

 

Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot

  1. Scroll to the All panel and select the Manage Connections icon.
  2. Scroll to and select the desired feature to uncheck and disable.

 

Minimize use of third party applications

  • Third-party applications may also drain the battery quicker. If battery life diminishes significantly after installing applications, check the following information about the applications:
    • Low ratings (1 or 2 stars)
    • Comments indicating battery issues
    • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, or network access

      Important: If your battery drains quickly, it is highly recommended to uninstall the application.

 

Toggle from 4G to 2G

  1. If necessary, select all All from the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  2. Scroll to the All panel and select the Options icon.
  3. Select Networks and Connections.
  4. Select Mobile Network.
  5. Select Network Mode.
  6. Select one of the following options:
    • 2G: Use only 2G connection speed.
    • 3G/4G & 2G: Automatically switch between connection speeds depending on the quality of the connection.

Press and then quickly release the Power key to set the screen to sleep mode.
