Format SD card

 

Formatting the SD card deletes all data on it. You may wish to format the SD card if you want to delete the files, if files or apps on the SD card are not working, or if the SD card is not working.

 

To format the SD card while inserted in the device, follow these steps:

Insert / remove SD card

 

To insert or remove the SD card, follow these steps:

To insert the memory card, follow these steps:

  1. Lift the back cover to remove it.

  1. Insert the card with the phone turned  upside down and the memory card contacts facing down.
  2. Push the card into the slot until it  clicks.

  1. Press the back cover onto the phone  until it snaps into place.

Remove

  1. Lift the back cover to remove it.

  1. Push the card in until it releases.
  2. Pull the card from the slot.

  1. Press the back cover onto the phone  until it snaps into place.

Open / delete files

 

Open or delete files using the computer

To open or delete files on the SD card using a computer, follow these steps:

 

You must use the USB cable that comes with your phone.

 

  1. From the Menu, tap Settings.
  2. Scroll to and tap Phone settings.
  3. Scroll to and tap PC connections.
  4. Tap Mass storage.
  5. Connect a micro-USB cord to the phone, then to your  computer. On your computer, a Portable Device window appears.

  1. Click Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer.

  1. Click OK.
  2. On the computer, double click the  folder in the phone’s drive to access your files.
  3. Right click the file you want to  delete and select Delete.
  4. Select Yes.
  5. When you are finished, click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the  lower right-hand corner of your computer screen.
  6. Click Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device.

 

Open or delete files using the device

To open or delete files on the SD card using the device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Menu, tap Applications.
  2. Tap Files.
  3. Tap  the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Memory card.
  5. Tap More.
  6. Tap Delete.
  7. Tap Select all or tap to select each folder or file you want to delete.
  8. Tap Delete.

 

 

Set default memory storage

 

By default, the device stores data on the internal storage. To set the default memory storage to another location, follow these steps:

Transfer files

 

Transfer files between computer & SD card

To transfer files and pictures between the computer and SD card, follow these steps:

 

Important: You must use the USB cable that comes with your phone.

 

  1. From  the Menu, tap Settings.
  2. Scroll  to and tap Phone settings.
  3. Scroll  to and tap PC connections.
  4. Tap Mass storage.
  5. Connect  a micro-USB cord to  the phone, then to your computer. On your computer, a Portable Device window  appears.

  2. On  the computer, double click the folder in the phone’s drive to access your  files.
  3. Drag  and drop the file from your computer into the memory card folder.

Transfer files between internal storage & SD card

To transfer files between internal storage & SD card, follow these steps:

 

  1. From  the Menu, tap Applications.
  2. Tap Files.
  3. Tap  the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Phone.
  5. Navigate to the file you wish to move.
  6. Tap Manage.
    • You may have to select More first.
  7. Tap Move.
  8. Tap Select  all or tap to select each folder or file you want to move or copy.
  9. Tap Move.
  10. Tap Memory card.
  11. Tap Move here.

 

 

View free SD card space

To view the amount of free SD card storage, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Menu, tap Settings.
  2. Scroll to and tap Memory settings.
  3. Tap Memory card details.
