Software update: Motorola CLIQ 2

Understanding the Update

As of May 1, the  Motorola CLIQ 2 software update will be available to download from Motorola's website. The software update is a manual update and will not be offered Over The Air (OTA).

Manual update via Motorola website

Prepare for the Update
  • The update can take up to 25 minutes.
  • DO NOT disconnect the USB cable until the update is completed.
  • Calling and messaging functions are not available during the update process.
  • The handset is automatically reset during this process.
Prepare the Motorola CLIQ 2
  1. Fully charge the battery.
  2. Save any important data onto your PC before updating the software on your device.
  3. Remove the SD Card.
Update the phone


  • Close all open applications on your computer before proceeding with the update.
  • Connect your USB cable directly to the computer.

Important: DO NOT use a USB Hub.

  1. On a PC, navigate  to
  2. Review the  requirements and click the check box below step 3.
  3. Click Download  Software Update.
  4. When prompted,  click Run.
  5. Connect your device  to the PC with a USB cable.
  6. When the device is  detected, the software will prompt you to install new software. Click Next.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Once the update is  complete, click Finish. The device will reboot.



Issue performing the software update
  1. This software update is wholly on Motorola's side. T-Mobile is unable to provide support while completing the software update.
  2. Contact the manufacturer for any issues completing the software update.
