Internet and data issues when using a mobile hotspot

    Troubleshoot problems with connecting to the Internet or using data services while connected to your mobile hotspot.

    To fix this issue:

    1. Make sure of the following:
      • You're in T-Mobile coverage.
      • Your mobile hotspot has signal. If you don't have signal, check out Can't get signal.
      • You can connect to your mobile hotspot from your computer or phone.
      • You don't have any programs running in the background on your computer. This may cause a slow browsing experience, especially if these programs use an Internet connection.
    2. Turn off your mobile hotspot.
    3. Restart your computer.
    4. Wait 5 seconds and turn on your mobile hotspot
    5. Log on to your computer and connect to your mobile hotspot, or connect to the mobile hotspot from your phone.
    6. Retest the issue and continue troubleshooting if you're still experiencing the problem.
    7. Clear your browser history.
    8. Retest the issue and continue troubleshooting if you're still experiencing the problem.
    9. If multiple devices are connected, check for browsing issues on the other connected devices. If only one device is having browsing issues, then the issue is not with the Mobile Hotspot.
    10. Reset your mobile hotspot.
    11. Retest the issue.
