Depending on your account type, you can upgrade your device at My T-Mobile, through the T-Mobile app, at a T-Mobile store, or over the phone with a specialist. You'll pay a low out-of-pocket price, and have the option to pay the remainder of your phone balance over 24 months with no interest or finance charges. If you are a JUMP! On Demand or JUMP! customer, check out our device upgrade page to learn more about your upgrade options.

 

Make sure that you are the Primary Account Holder or have Full Account access. Only these lines can upgrade a phone or device on My T-Mobile.

Upgrade your device

  1. Open the T-Mobile app.
  2. Tap the Menu icon > Shop.
    • If there is a current offer, you can tap See how for the offer details.
    • If there is a current pre-order, you can tap Pre-order now to start the upgrade.
  3. If not following an offer or a pre-order, select the device by tapping See all phones.
  4. Tap the phone that is being upgrade.
    • To trade-in your current phone, tap the phone in the list.
      1. Select the correct response:

        • Tap It's good if the device passes the listed questions.
        • Tap It's got issues if the device has any of the issues listed.
      2. Tap Continue.
    • If you wish to trade-in an iPhone from another carrier, tap Got a different phone? ->.
      1. On the 'Trade-in a different device' page, select the following:

        Note: The 'Other Carries' is the first option in the drop-down menu.

        • Carrier: Other Carriers
        • Make
        • Model
        • IMEI (entered manually)
      2. Tap Continue.
    • To skip the trade-in, tap Skip trade-in.
  5. The app will show you the value of your trade-in (unless the trade-in was skipped), tap Continue.

  6. Scroll to and select the desired device. If you started the order with a pre-order device, only the options for the pre-order device will be shown.
  7. On the device screen, select the desired options:
    • Color (if applicable)
    • Memory
    • Pricing option
  8. Tap Add to cart.
  9. Tap the line to upgrade.
  10. Select the desired option:
    • Premium Device Protection Plus
    • Premium Handset Protection with Lookout Mobile Security Premium
    • Device Protection
  11. Tap Continue or I don't want insurance.
  12. Review the summary page, make any necessary changes and add your payment method for any down payments before tapping Accept and continue.
  13. If 'Monthly payments' was selected for 'Pricing option,' tap Review Document to see the EIP agreement.
  14. Review your information and tap Continue.
  15. Select a style for your signature and tap Adopt & Initial.
  16. Review the signed EIP and  tap Next. An order confirmation page will be  displayed.

 

Upgrade your device with JUMP!

  1. Open the T-Mobile app.
  2. Tap the Menu icon > Shop.
    • If there is a current offer, you can tap See how for the offer details.
    • If there is a current pre-order, you can tap Pre-order now to start the upgrade.
  3. If not following an offer or a pre-order, select the device by tapping See all phones.
  4. Tap the phone that is being upgrade.
  5. Scroll to and select the desired device. If you started the order with a pre-order device, only the options for the pre-order device will be shown.
  6. On the device screen, select the desired options:
    • Color (if applicable)
    • Memory
    • Pricing option
  7. Tap Add to cart.
  8. Tap all check boxes that apply:
    • Does the device power on?
    • Have you disabled the anti-theft?
    • Does the device have a good display?
    • Is there any water damage?
  9. Tap Continue.
  10. If the device passed the condition check, a confirmation screen will appear. Tap Accept and continue.
  11. Review the summary page, make any necessary changes and add your payment method for any down payments before tapping Accept and continue.
  12. If 'Monthly payments' was selected for 'Pricing option,' tap Review Document to see the EIP agreement.
  13. Review your information and tap Continue.
  14. Select a style for your signature and tap Adopt & Initial.
  15. Review the signed EIP and  tap Next. An order confirmation page will be  displayed.

 

Track your order

Tracking details will only appear if an order has been placed recently. JUMP! on Demand orders don't display.

Tap Order Status. The order status will show:

 

  • Before shipping - Being Processed with a date range for delivery.
  • After shipping - Being Processed with a date range and tracking information.

 

From a computer

  1. Go to My T-Mobile and log in to your account.
  2. Click SHOP at the top of the screen, then click UPGRADE.
  3. Select the line that you want to upgrade.
  4. Select the device that you want, and then click Add to Cart.
  5. Follow the prompts to complete the checkout process.
  6. If you want to perform a JUMP! upgrade, select that option under Handset Protection and Upgrades during the checkout process.
