Master reset: T-Mobile SpringBoard

Learn how to master reset the T-Mobile SpringBoard through the menu or hardware keys.

 

 

 

 

Master reset from settings menu

 

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

 

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory.
  2. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Backup & reset.
  5. If desired, tap to clear the Back up my data check box.
  6. If desired, tap to clear the Automatic restore check box.
  7. Tap Factory data reset.
  8. Read the message about erasing data.
  9. Tap Reset tablet.
  10. Tap Erase everything.

 

 

Master reset with hardware keys

 

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloaded content, ringtones, images, apps, and contacts. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys. To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

 

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory.
  2. Power off your tablet.
  3. Press and hold the Volume Up button and then press the Power key.
  4. Once the Springboard vibrates, quickly release the power button AND press Volume Down button. Continue to hold BOTH Volume buttons.
  5. When a green Android image appears with cranks/gears around it, release the Volume buttons.
  6. The device has been successful reset. The process may take up to 10 minutes.
