Insert / remove SD card

 

To insert or remove the SD card, follow these steps:

 

Insert

To insert the memory card, follow these steps:

  1. Open the back cover.

  2. With its golden contacts facing down, insert the memory card into the memory card slot.
  3. Align the teeth underneath the back cover with the notches on the tablet.
  4. Gently press down on the cover until it clicks and locks into place.

 

 

Remove

  1. Open the back cover.

  4. Gently press down on the cover until it clicks and locks into place.

 

 

Open / delete files

 

Open or delete files using the computer

To open or delete files on the SD card using a computer, follow these steps:

 

You must use the USB cable that comes with your phone.

 

PC

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Storage.
  4. Tap the Menu icon.
  5. Tap USB computer connection.
  6. Tap to select the Media device (MTP) check box.
  7. Plug the small end of the USB cable into the USB/charging port on your tablet.
  8. Plug the large end of the USB cable into the USB port of your computer.
  9. A Portable Device window may open on your computer’s desktop. Click Open device to view files using Windows Explorer and then click OK.

OR

 

  1. On your computer, click Start and then click My Computer.
  2. Double-click SpringBoard  to access the folders and files of the tablet’s internal storage and the memory (SD) card (if available). If no memory card is installed, only Internal Storage will be present.
  3. Double-click SD Card to access the memory card’s folders and files.
  4. Open or delete the desired file.
  5. When you are finished, click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray on the lower right-hand corner of your computer desktop.
  6. Click Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device - Drives.
  7. Disconnect the USB cable from your computer and then from your tablet.

Mac

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Storage.
  4. Tap the Menu icon.
  5. Tap USB computer connection.
  6. Tap to select the Media device (MTP) check box.
  7. Plug the small end of the USB cable into the USB/charging port on your tablet.
  8. Plug the large end of the USB cable into the USB port of your Mac computer.
  9. On your computer, navigate to the Applications folder and double-click Android File Transfer.
  10. A Finder window named SpringBoard will open and allow access to folders and files on the tablet’s internal storage and the memory (SD) card (if available). If no memory card is installed, only Internal Storage will be present.
  11. Click SD Card to access the memory card’s folders and files.
  12. Open or delete the desired file.
  13. When you are finished, close the SpringBoard Finder window or exit the Android File Transfer application.
  14. Disconnect the USB cable from your computer and then from your tablet.

 

Open or delete files using the device

To open or delete files on the SD card using the device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap File Manager.
  3. Tap the SD Card tab.
  4. Navigate to the desired folder.
  5. Tap a file to open it or
  6. Tap a file to open it or touch and hold the file to delete.
  7. If deleting, tap Delete then Yes.

Transfer files

 

Transfer files between computer & SD card

To transfer files and pictures between the computer and SD card, follow these steps:

PC

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Storage.
  4. Tap the Menu icon.
  5. Tap USB computer connection.
  6. Tap to select the Media device (MTP) check box.
  7. Plug the small end of the USB cable into the USB/charging port on your tablet.
  8. Plug the large end of the USB cable into the USB port of your computer.
  9. A Portable Device window may open on your computer’s desktop. Click Open device to view files using Windows Explorer and then click OK.

OR

Transfer files between internal storage & SD card

To transfer files between internal storage & SD card, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap File Manager.
  3. Tap the SD Card tab.
  4. Navigate to the desired folder.
  5. Touch and hold the file you want to copy.
  6. Tap Copy.
  7. Tap the Local tab.
  8. Navigate to the desired folder.
  9. Tap the Paste icon.

 

 

View free SD card space

To view the amount of free SD card storage, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Storage.
  4. Under SD Card, view Total space and Available space.
