When your device is sharing the mobile internet connection, refer to the following:

Set up mobile hotspot

 

To set up or configure a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

Note: Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings cannot be changed when Wi-Fi sharing is turned on.

 

Note: It is NOT possible to configure the following options:

  • Allow/block specific devices
  • Number of maximum device connections

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and networks.
  4. Tap Tethering and portable hotspot.
  5. Tap Configure portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
  6. If desired, enter a unique name for the network SSID.
  7. If desired, tap the Password field to enter a security password.Note: Your password must be at least 8 characters long.
  8. Tap the Security drop-down menu.
  9. Tap to select from the following options:
    • Open
    • WPA2 PSKTap
  10. Save.
  11. On your computer or another capable device, connect to your tablet (SSID) via Wi-Fi hotspot.

 

 

Turn on / off mobile hotspot

 

To turn on or turn off a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless and networks.
  4. Tap Tethering and portable hotspot.
  5. Tap to select the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot check box.
    Note: Your tablet starts broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name (SSID) so you can connect it to other computers or devices. Your tablet’s default SSID is Android Hotspot[xxxx].
