Enter symbols & numbers

 

To enter symbols and numbers with the keyboard, follow these steps:

 

  1. Press the Alt key.
  2. Press the desired symbol or number.

 

 

Text entry mode

 

To change the text entry or predictive text mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. If necessary, select All on the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  2. Scroll to and select the Options icon.
  3. Select Typing and Language.
  4. Select Typing.
  5. From the Style drop-down menu, select from the following options:
    • Direct: No suggestions are made as you type.
    • Predictive: Suggested words are displayed as you type.
  6. For predictive mode, if desired, select Advanced Style Optionsand enable or disable the following options:
    • Spelling: suggests alternate spellings
    • Typing: adds new words to your dictionary
    • Names: learns and suggests the names of your contacts
    • Email:learns and suggests new words from incoming email messages; select from the following options:
      • Off
      • All Messages
      • Contacts Only
  7. Press the Menu key.
  8. Select Save.
  9. If necessary, press the Menu key again.
  10. Select Save.
