Add an email account manually

 

To set up an email account and manually enter the settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. If necessary, touch the bottom of the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  2. Scroll to the All panel and tap the Setup icon.
  3. Tap Email Accounts.
  4. Tap Internet Mail Account.
  5. If prompted, read the BlackBerry Prosumer Service Agreement and tap I Accept.
  6. If prompted, enter your BlackBerry ID username and password and tap Sign In or Create New.
  7. Scroll to and select one of the following options:
    • Yahoo! Mail
    • Gmail
    • AOL
    • Windows Live
    • Other
    • Create New Address to create a new tmo.blackberry.net e-mail address
  8. Enter your e-mail address and password.
  9. Tap Continue.
  10. If desired, tap Change Settings.
  11. Edit the settings you want to change.
  12. When finished, tap Save.
  13. Tap Continue.
  14. Tap OK when activation is complete.
  15. Select one of the following options:
    • Close
    • Set up another email account

 

 

Add a BlackBerry account

 

If your company is using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, then you can set up your phone to receive work e-mail from Microsoft Outlook, or IBM Lotus Notes.

 

 

Add via the phone


  1. If you have the Enterprise Activation password from your system administrator, follow these steps:
  2. If necessary, touch the bottom of the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  3. Scroll to the All panel and tap the Setup icon.
  4. Tap Email Accounts.
  5. Tap Enterprise Account.
  6. If prompted, read the BlackBerry Prosumer Service Agreement and tap I Accept.
  7. If prompted, enter your BlackBerry ID username and password and tap Sign In or Create New.
  8. Enter your e-mail address and activation password.
  9. Tap Activate.
  10. When your e-mail address has been enabled, tap Return to Setup.

 

Add via Blackberry Desktop Software

If you do not have the Enterprise Activation password from your system administrator, then you must use the BlackBerry Desktop Software on your computer that is part of your corporate network and then synchronize work email with your phone. To use the BlackBerry Desktop Software you first must install it on your computer.Once the BlackBerry Desktop Software is installed on your computer, follow these steps:

 

  1. Open the BlackBerry Desktop Software on your computer.
  2. When the main BlackBerry Desktop Software window opens, connect the small end of your USB cable to your phone and the large end of the cable to your computer.
  3. In the main BlackBerry Desktop Software window on your computer, click the Device drop-down menu and then click Device options.
  4. Click the Enterprise Email tab.
  5. In the Email system drop-down list, click Microsoft Exchange (Outlook Client) or Lotus Domino (Notes Client)– only the option for your corporate e-mail system will be shown.
    • For Microsoft Exchange, do one of the following:
      1. If you have not selected a profile for Microsoft Outlook, select one in the Profile Options window when you are prompted, then click OK.
      2. If you have selected a profile and you want to change it, click Change profile to browse for a different profile, then click OK.
    • For Lotus Domino, do one of the following:
      1. If you have not selected a server, click Select server and then click IBM Lotus Domino.
      2. If you have selected a server and you want to change it, click Change server to browse for a different server.
    • For either Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Domino, do any of the following optional steps:
      1. To add the name of your e-mail account on your smartphone, type the name in the Service name field.
      2. To include a signature in your outgoing e-mail messages, type a signature in the Email signature field.
      3. To save copies of the e-mail messages from your smartphone to the Sent Items folder in your corporate e-mail account, select the Save sent emails check box.
  6. Click OK.
  7. On your phone, you may need to enter a new password to meet your corporate e-mail security guidelines.
  8. Enter the new password again to confirm.
  9. When your corporate e-mail and settings have synced to your phone and activation is complete, tap OK.

 

Create a new BlackBerry email account

You can create a new BlackBerry e-mail account (username@tmo.blackberry.net).To create a new BlackBerry e-mail account, follow these steps:

 

  1. If necessary, touch the bottom of the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  2. Scroll to the All panel and tap the Setup icon.
  3. Tap Email Accounts.
  4. Tap Internet Mail Account.
  5. If prompted, scroll to and select Set up another email account.
  6. Tap Create New Address.
  7. Enter the username you want to appear before the @ symbol in your e-mail address.
    Note: The username must be 4 characters or longer.
  8. Enter a password.
  9. Enter the password again to confirm it.
  10. Tap Security question and select a question from the drop-down list.
  11. Enter the answer to the security question.
  12. Tap Continue.
  13. Follow the on-screen instructions to change sync and other settings for the account.

 

Transfer an existing account to a new BlackBerry device

Customer who have set up an e-mail account on a BlackBerry device and then get a new BlackBerry device will need to move their e-mail accounts to access them on the new device.

 

 

To move an e-mail account to a new BlackBerry device, follow these steps:

 

 

  1. From the Home screen, scroll to and select All.
  2. Scroll to and select Setup.
  3. Scroll to and select E-mail Accounts.
  4. Scroll to and select Internet Mail Account.
  5. Sign into your BlackBerry ID.
  6. Scroll to and select Move Email Accounts.
  7. Enter the e-mail password.
  8. Scroll to and select Continue.
  9. Select OK.

 

 

Delete an email account

 

To delete an email account, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, select Messages.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Scroll to and select Options.
  4. Scroll to and select Email Account Management.
  5. Scroll to and select the email address you want to delete.
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Select Yes to confirm.
