Settings

 

To change the settings for taking and displaying pictures, follow these steps:

 

  1. If necessary, touch the bottom of the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  2. Scroll to the All panel and tap the Camera icon.
    • Note: If a media(memory) card is installed the first time the camera application is accessed, a pop-up box appears with the message ““Media card detected. Always save pictures to media card?” Tap Yes or No as desired.
  3. Press the Menu key.
  4. Scroll to and select any of the following options to adjust the settings as desired:
    • Flash to enable or disable flash options:
      • Auto
      • On
      • Off
    • Geotagging to tag a picture with your phone’s GPS location at the time the picture is captured:
      • On
      • Off
    • Scene Modes to select ideal settings for a captured picture:
      • Auto: Ideal for capturing a wide range of subjects under most conditions.
      • Face Detection: Ideal for detecting faces and putting them in focus in most lighting conditions.
      • Portrait: Ideal for capturing people; skin tones are accurately reproduced.
      • Sports: Ideal for capturing sports or other quickly moving subjects.
      • Landscape: Ideal for capturing bright, outdoor scenes; enhances the details and sharpness of the scene.
      • Party: Ideal for capturing people in dim, indoor environments.
      • Close-Up: Ideal for capturing subjects that are close the camera; enhances the detail and sharpness of close-up subjects.
      • Snow: Ideal for capturing snow scenes; colors are accurately reproduced in scenes that are primarily white.
      • Beach: Ideal for capturing beach scenes; colors are accurately reproduced in scenes of sea,sand, and sky.
      • Night: Ideal for capturing dim, outdoor scenes.
      • Text: Ideal for capturing text on white backgrounds; enhances the detail and sharpness of text.
    • Options to adjust these additional settings as desired:
      • Digital Zoom to check or uncheck for digital zoom using the Volume Up / Down keys
      • Image Stabilization to check or uncheck for image stabilization
      • Picture Review to increase or decrease the time to review a picture:
        • Off
        • 3 Seconds
        • 5 Seconds
        • 8 Seconds
        • Hold
      • Image Size to change the size of a captured picture:
        • Large (2560 x 1920)
        • Medium (1024 x 768)
        • Small(640 x 480)
      • Store Pictures to choose storing pictures to the phone’s memory or to a memory card, if available:
        • On Device
        • On Media Card
  5. When finished, press the Menu key.
  6. Tap Save.

 

 

Set default camera storage

 

To change if the camera stores pictures on the internal memory (ROM) or SD card, follow these steps:

 

  1. If necessary, touch the bottom of the Home screen to expand the Applications panel.
  2. Scroll to the All panel and tap the Camera icon.
    • Note: If a media(memory) card is installed the first time the camera application is accessed, a pop-up box appears with the message ““Media card detected. Always save pictures to media card?” Tap Yes or No as desired.
  3. Press the Menu key.
  4. Scroll to and tap Store Pictures.
  5. Choose between the following options:
    • On Device
    • On Media Card
