    Upgrade firmware

    1. Restart the router to automatically download the latest firmware version.
    2. If restarting the router does not download the latest firmware upgrade, make sure that you're connected to the router, and enter either of these URLs into the computer's web browser:
    3. Log in to the configuration page using your login name and password.
      Note: The default router login is name (admin) and password (password).
    4. Click Administration.
    5. Click Firmware Upgrade and then click Check to automatically search for updates.
    6. Select the latest firmware and then click Upload to start the firmware installation.

     

    Minor software improvements

    Here is a list of the fixes and improvements for the latest firmware version TM-AC1900_3.0.0.4.376_3169:

    • Openvpn: not wiping out the original default gateway, or wanduck will think wan is not connected.
    • Openvpn: add error number for the case of receiving auth failed message.
    • Openvpn: fix openvpn client cannot connect without key-direction parameter.

     

     

    Change network password

    1. Enter either URL in the computer's web browser:
    2. When prompted, enter the user name and password. If you previously changed the default password, enter the password you created. If you have not changed the password, enter the defaults:
      • Default user name = admin
      • Default password = password
    3. On the network admin page, navigate to the System Status section of the Network Map.
    4. Select the 2.4GHz tab.
      1. Select WPA2-Personal from the Authentication Method drop-down menu.
      2. Enter a password at least eight characters long in the WPA-PSK key field.
    5. Select the 5GHz tab.
      1. Select WPA2-Personal from the Authentication Method drop-down menu.
      2. Enter a password at least eight characters long in the WPA-PSK key field. You can use the same password you entered in step 4.
    6. Click Apply. The router restarts. Once finished, reconnect using your own password. If you lose this password, the router must be reset to its default settings.

     

     

    Create a guest network

    This function is available in both AP and router mode. You can create up to six guest accounts with different permissions for each.

     

    To create a guest network:

    1. Make sure that you're connected to the router, and then access the router admin page at http://cellspot.router.
    2. Go to General > Guest Network > Enable.
    3. Complete the Guest Network fields and then click Apply.
    4. View the guest account.

     

     

    Enable parental control

    Parental control allows you to set the time limit for a client's network usage. Before setting the controls, ensure router system time and computer system time are the same.

     

    To set parental controls:

    1. Make sure that you're connected to the router, and then access the router admin page at http://cellspot.router.
    2. Go to General > Parental Control.
    3. Click to enable the Enable parental control switch.
    4. Select the client whose network usage you want to control in the Client's Name drop-down menu.
    5. In the Client's MAC Address field, enter the client's MAC address.
    6. In the Add/Delete section, click the plus icon to add the client.
    7. In the Time Management section, click the edit icon to edit the Active Schedule.
    8. Select the desired time slots for allowed access times.
    9. Drag and hold to create longer time slots.
    10. Click OK to save the settings.

     

     

    Enable iTunes server

    1. Plug in the hard drive to the router’s USB port.
    2. Make sure that you're connected to the router, and then access the router admin page at http://cellspot.router.
    3. Go to General > USB Application > Server Center.
    4. Go to Media Server and then enable Itunes Server.
    5. Name your iTunes Server.
    6. You can now access the media files in the HDD connecting to RT-AC68U from Shared Libraries in iTunes.

     

     

    Restart the router and modem

    1. Turn off the modem (press the power button) and unplug the modem.
    2. Turn off and unplug the router and any connected computers.
    3. Plug in and then turn on the modem.
    4. Wait for two minutes.
    5. Plug in and then turn on the router by pressing the power button.
    6. Wait for two minutes.
    7. Turn on the computer and connected devices.

     

     

    Reset the router

    1. Press and hold the reset button (not the power button) on the back of the router for eight seconds.
    2. Make sure that the power light blinks to indicate the start of the reset.
    3. Once the power light is blinking, release the reset button.
    4. Wait 10 seconds for the router indicator lights on the front of the router to return.
    5. Once the power button is solid blue the reset is complete and the router is now reset to its factory default settings.

    • Enable DHCP: Yes (if WAN cable is plugged in)
    • IP address: 192.168.29.1

    • Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    • DNS Server 1: 192.168.29.1

    • SSID (2.4GHz): CellSpot_2.4GHz_(four digit MAC ID)
