Drivers for computers

 

To download and install device drivers for computers, follow these steps:

 

Note: The drivers should already be stored on your device and will install when you connect your device to the computer using the USB cable. However, you can also install the drivers by downloading BlackBerry Link (follow the steps below). Also, installing BlackBerry Link allows you to sync your device with your computer for transferring files.

 

 

  1. Navigate to the BlackBerry Link download site.
  2. Click the appropriate link for your computer:

    • Download for PC
    • Download for Mac

  3. Follow the prompts to download the program.

 

 

Tethering via USB

 

To connect the device internet to a computer via USB cable, follow these steps:

 

First-time access

  1. Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
  2. From any Home screen, touch the Status bar and drag it down and tap Settings.
  3. Tap Network Connections.
  4. Tap Internet tethering.
  5. Tap Next until you finish the tutorial.
  6. Tap the Connect using field and then tap USB.
  7. Tap Next.
  8. Tap the Internet Tethering Switch to 'On.' When your phone starts sharing its connection, the Status field appears displaying the following information:
    • Time
    • Data sent
    • Data received
  9. When finished, tap the Tethering Switch to Off. The Switch moves left and turns grey.
  10. Disconnect the USB cable.

 

After first-time access

  1. Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
  2. From any Home screen, touch the Status bar and drag it down and tap Settings.
  3. Tap Network Connections.
  4. Tap Internet tethering.
  5. If necessary, tap Connect using and then tap USB.
  6. Tap the Internet Tethering Switch to 'On.' When your phone starts sharing its connection, the Status field appears displaying the following information:
    • Time
    • Data sent
    • Data received
  7. When finished, tap the Tethering Switch to Off. The Switch moves left and turns grey.
  8. Disconnect the USB cable.
