Set up mobile hotspot

 

To set up or configure a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

Note: Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings cannot be changed when Wi-Fi sharing is turned on.

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
  3. Tap More.
  4. Tap Mobile network sharing.
  5. Tap Mobile Hotspot settings.
  6. If necessary, read message and tap OK.
  7. If desired, tap Security and select one of the following options:
    • None

    • WEP (128)

    • WPA (TKIP)

    • WPA2 (AES)

  8. If desired, tap the Password field to change the password.
  9. Tap Manage users.
  10. Select or clear the Allowed users only bubble.
  11. Tap the Max connections field and select the desired setting.
  12. Tap Done.

Turn on / off mobile hotspot

 

To turn on or turn off a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
  3. Tap More.
  4. Tap Mobile network sharing.
  5. Select or clear the Mobile Hotspot bubble.

Note: When enabled, your phone starts broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name (SSID) so you can connect to it with up to five computers or other devices. Your phone’s default SSID is HTC One S.
