Battery saving mode

 

Battery saving mode is supported on Android 5.0 Lollipop. To turn on, turn off, or use battery life saving features on the device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All appsAll Apps.pngicon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'PERSONAL,' then tap Location.
  4. Tap Mode.
  5. Tap to select Battery saving.

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All appsAll Apps.pngicon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'PERSONAL,' then tap Location.
  4. Tap Mode.
  5. Choose from the following options:
    • High accuracy - Uses GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks to estimate location.
    • Battery saving - Use Wi-Fi and mobile networks to estimate location.
    • Device only - Use GPS to pinpoint your location.

 

 

Tips to save battery life

 

To save and extend battery life, follow these steps:

 

Lower screen brightness and timeout duration

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All appsAll Apps.pngicon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'DEVICE,' then tap Display.
  4. Tap Brightness or Sleep
  5. Adjust the settings to lower battery drain.
  6. Tap OK

 

Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot

  1. From any Home screen, drag down the notification bar.
  2. Review the icons available for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, & portable Wi-Fi Hotspot.
  3. Tap on the icon to remove the color to turn off the setting.
  4. Repeat until all settings are turned off.

 

Change application sync settings

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All appsAll Apps.pngicon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'ACCOUNTS,' then tap the account you wish to sync.
  4. Tap the green Sync icon.
  5. Select the desired sync options.

 

Turn off background data

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All appsAll Apps.pngicon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS," tap More... to display more options.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Background data to turn on/off.

 

Minimize use of third party applications

  1. From any Home screen, tapAll Apps.pngAll Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Apps.
  4. If necessary, swipe right to the Downloaded screen.
  5. Tap the desired application.
  6. Tap Uninstall and then tap OK.

 

Toggle from 4G to 2G

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All appsAll Apps.pngicon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS," tap More... to display more options.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Preferred Network Selection.
  6. Choose from the following:
    • LTE
    • 3G
    • 2G

 

Update to the latest software

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to and tap About phone.
  4. Scroll down to view the Android Version.

 

Set device to sleep when unused

Press and then quickly release the Power key to set the screen to sleep mode.
