Learn how to customize text entry and default keyboard settings on the Google Nexus 4.

 

 

 

 

Change default keyboard

 

To change the default keyboard, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the home screen, tap the All apps AllAppsicon.jpg icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'Personal,' then tap Language & input.
  4. Under 'Keyboard & input methods,' tap Current Keyboard.
  5. Tap CHOOSE KEYBOARDS, then tap Keyboard to select.
  6. Tap the Back icon, select Current Keyboard again.
  7. Your keyboard selection will appear.
  8. Tap your selected keyboard to change your default keyboard.

 

 

Enter symbols & numbers

 

To enter symbols and numbers with the keyboard, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap a text entry field.
  2. Tap ?123  to switch to symbols and numbers.
  3. Tap the  =\< key for more symbol options.
  4. Tap ABC to switch back to text entry.

 

 

Text entry mode

 

To change the text entry mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the home screen, tap the All apps AllAppsicon.jpg icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Language & input.
  4. To the right of the desired keyboard, tap on the keyboard settings.
  5. Tap on Auto-correction.
  6. Choose what type of auto-correction you wish to have.

 

 

Turn on / off haptic feedback

 

To turn on or turn off haptic feedback vibration, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the home screen, tap the All apps AllAppsicon.jpg icon.
  2. From any home screen tap Applications.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Under 'Device,' tap Sound & notification.
  5. Tap Other sounds > Vibrate on touch.
