Learn how to manage contacts on the Google Nexus 4.

 

 

 

 

Add contact

 

To add a new contact to the phone book, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the blue PhonePhoneIcon.jpgicon.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap the Add contactpeople_icon.pngicon.
  4. Enter the contacts name and information in the desired fields.
  5. Tap Done.

 

 

Add contact to speed dial

 

To assign a contact to speed dial, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All appsAllAppsicon.jpgicon.
  2. Tap Widgets.
  3. Scroll to the Direct Dial widget.
  4. Touch and hold the Direct Dial widget until the Home screen appears and then release.
  5. When the Contacts list or People app appears, tap to select the contact you wish to assign to a Direct Dial icon.
  6. Repeat for as many Direct Dial contacts as you wish to assign.
  7. To create a folder for Direct Dial shortcuts, drop a new Direct Dial shortcut onto an existing one.

 

 

Copy contact: import / export from SD card

 

To copy contacts between the device memory and SD card, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the blue PhonePhoneIcon.jpgicon.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap the Menu icon.
  4. Tap Import/export.
  5. Tap Import from storage.
  6. Under 'Create contact under account,' tap an account.

 

 

Copy contact: import / export from SIM card

 

To copy contacts between the device memory and SIM card, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the blue PhonePhoneIcon.jpgicon.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap the Menu icon.
  4. Tap Import/export.
  5. Tap Import from SIM card.
  6. Under 'Create contact under account,' choose an account.
  7. Tap OK.

 

 

Delete contact

 

To delete contacts from the phone book, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the blue PhonePhoneIcon.jpgicon.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap the desired contact.
  4. Tap the Edit contact icon > Menu icon.
  5. Tap Delete.
  6. Tap OK to confirm.
