Network: T-Mobile Concord

Learn how to connect to data networks (2G, 4G) and data roaming on the T-Mobile Concord.

 

 

 

 

APN & data settings

 

To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Open the Access Point Names or APNs.
  6. If there is a T-Mobile APN, touch it. If not, press the Menu key, and touch New APN.
  7. Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
    • Name: T-Mobile
    • APN: epc.tmobile.com or fast.t-mobile.com (for LTE devices)
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS proxy: <Not set>
    • MMS port: <Not set>
    • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: <Not Set> OR Internet+MMS (depending on software version)
  8. Press the Menu key.
  9. Touch Save.
  10. In the list of APNs, delete all others that may appear. If there is a FOTA APN, you may leave that one. To do this:
    1. Touch the APN you want to delete.
    2. Press the Menu key.
    3. Touch Delete APN.
  11. Verify that there is a circle next to the one remaining APN to show it is activated.
  12. Perform a soft reset.
  13. Test your data connection, by accessing a web page or sending a picture message (MMS) to yourself.

 

 

Manual network selection

 

To manually select the wireless network the device connects to, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless &  networks.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network operators.
  6. Tap Search networks.
  7. Scroll to and tap the desired network.
  8. If prompted, tap OK to disable data services and continue search.

 

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

 

Switch 2G / 4G

 

To change the band between 2G and 4G, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Use only 2G  networks to select or the clear the checkbox.

 

 

Turn on / off Airplane mode

 

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows you to use apps and menus, but not make calls or use the internet.

 

To turn on or turn off airplane mode, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless &  networks.
  4. Tap Airplane mode to turn on (check) wireless service.
  5. To turn off airplane mode, follow these steps:
  6. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  7. Tap Settings.
  8. Tap Wireless &  networks.
  9. Tap Airplane mode to turn off (uncheck) wireless service.

 

 

Turn on / off data roaming

 

To turn on or turn off data roaming, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless &  networks.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Data roaming to turn on (enable).
  6. To turn off data roaming, follow these steps:
  7. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  8. Tap Settings.
  9. Tap Wireless &  networks.
  10. Tap Mobile networks.
  11. Tap Data roaming to turn off (enable).

 

 

Turn on / off mobile data

 

To turn on or turn off mobile data, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Data enabled to turn on or off.
