Change default keyboard

 

To change the default keyboard, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu menu.jpg key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to and tap Language and keyboard.
  4. Tap Select input method.
  5. Tap one of the following options:
    • Samsung keypad
      • If desired, tap Samsung keypad again, tap Portrait keypad types, and then tap QWERTY Keypador 3x4 Keypad (displays only in portrait mode, when the phone is held vertically).
    • Swype

 

 

Enter symbols & numbers

 

To enter symbols and numbers with the keyboard, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any text screen, tap the text entry field to open the on-screen keyboard.
  2. Tap 123 to switch to numbers.
  3. Tap ?123 or 123 SYM to switch to numbers and symbols.
  4. Tap ?#+ to switch to symbols.
  5. Tap ABC or 123 ABC to switch back to text entry.

 

 

Text entry mode

 

To change the text entry or predictive text mode, follow these steps:

 

  • To use multi-tap mode, tap a key until the desired letter appears.
  • On the 3x4 keypad: to enter the word RUN, tap 7 three times, 8 twice, and 6 twice.

 

 

Turn on / off haptic feedback

 

To turn on or turn off haptic feedback vibration, follow these steps:

 

  1. From the Home screen, press Menu.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Sound.
  4. Tap Haptic feedback to enable/disable the feature.
