When your device is sharing the mobile internet connection, refer to the following:

Set up mobile hotspot

 

To set up or configure a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

Note: Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings cannot be changed when Wi-Fi sharing is turned on.

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap More settings.
  4. Tap Tethering and Mobile HotSpot.
  5. Tap Mobile HotSpot.
  6. Tap Configure.
    Note: Tap Show advanced options to show all the setting options.
  7. Tap to adjust the following settings:

    • Network SSID
    • Broadcast network name (SSID) (on/off)
    • Security
    • Password
    • Broadcast channel
    • Maximum connections

  8. Tap Save.

Turn on / off mobile hotspot

 

To turn on or turn off a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap More settings.
  4. Tap Tethering and Mobile HotSpot.
  5. To turn off, tap the Mobile Hotspot Switch to Off. The Switch moves left and turns grey.
  6. To turn on, tap the Mobile HotSpot Switch to On. The Switch moves right and turns green.

    First-time use
    Note: If you are turning on the HotSpot for the first time, you must create a password before using the Mobile HotSpot. When you turn on the HotSpot, you will be prompted to create a Wi-Fi password. When the pop-up window appears (pictured below), tap the Password field and enter the password (passwords must be at least eight characters) and then tap Save
