To set up and use Text to speech, follow these steps:

Note: If you are using Text to speech in English, this language is already installed and available to use.

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the Compose icon.
  3. Choose one of the following options for entering the message recipient:
    • Tap the Contacts  icon to select one of your Contacts. To the left of the desired contact, tap the check box to select the check box. Tap Done.
    • Tap the Enter recipient field and enter the recipient's phone number.
  4. Tap the Enter message field.
  5. Tap the Microphone key.
  6. Speak the desired text. You will be automatically directed back to the keyboard when you stop speaking.
  7. When finished, tap the Send  icon.

  3. Tap Language & Keyboard.
  4. Perform one of the following options:
    • Adjust the speech rate
      1. Tap Text-to-speech output.
      2. Tap speech rate.
      3. Select the desired option.
    • Change system language
      1. Tap System language.
      2. Select the desired language.
