Prepare the battery and SIM card

 

Before using the device, you need to insert the battery and SIM card. To prepare the battery and SIM card, see these steps:

 

 

Before using the device, must insert the nano SIM card. Inserting a modified card may cause the card to not fit properly or damage the card slot. This battery on this device cannot be removed.

 

Insert nano SIM card

  1. Insert the tip of the tray eject tool (or a small bent paperclip) into the hole next to the nano SIM card tray located on the left top of the side of the phone with the display facing up.
  2. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the nano SIM card tray ejects.

  1. Pull the nano SIM card tray out.
  2. Place the nano SIM card with contacts facing down into the nano SIM card tray.
  3. Insert the nano SIM card tray back into its slot.

Remove nano SIM card

  1. Insert the tip of the tray eject tool (or a small bent paperclip) into the hole next to the nano SIM card tray located on the left top of the side of the phone with the display facing up.
  2. Push the tip all the way into the hole until the nano SIM card tray ejects.

  1. Pull the nano SIM card tray out.
  2. Remove the nano SIM from the tray.
  3. Insert the nano SIM card tray back into its slot without the card.

Setup wizard

 

After turning on your device the first time, you may see a setup wizard to help you set up your device. To do this initial setup, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap Start.
  2. If necessary, select a Wi-Fi network.
  3. Tap Next.
  4. Tap Yes to the 'Get Google screen to set up your Google account. Tap No to create a new Google account.
  5. Enter Google Email and Password.
  6. Tap the arrow in the lower right to advance to the next screen.
  7. Tap OK to agree to Google Terms of Service.
  8. Select or clear the following Google settings:
    • BACKUP AND RESTORE
    • LOCATION
    • COMMUNICATION
  9. Tap the arrow in the lower right to advance to the next screen.
  10. If desired, sign into your HTC account.
  11. Select one of the following radio button:
    • Get content from your old phone
    • Skip
  12. Tap NEXT.
  13. Update the Auto sync selections as desired.
  14. Tap NEXT.
  15. The 'Personalize and secure screen' appears.
  16. Enter desired name into PHONE NAME field.
  17. If desired tap Screen lock to secure your phone. Follow any additional prompts.
  18. Tap NEXT.
  19. If desired, select the Allow Diagnostics check box.
  20. Tap MORE to learn more about diagnostics.
  21. Tap FINISH to complete the initial setup.
