I can't charge my cell phone. The port is messed up. Any wireless store you know that can repair this? I live in Sylmar, ca. I'd appreciate any help. ThNks.
Is it still in warranty? My wife just got a Samsung S 4G as a replacement on hers for the same problem. I called 611 and told them the problem.
Tmobile sent me an answer. If I have insuance, I can send phone to them & will be charged $20-. If I ave insurance, why should I be charged? But I don't have insurance, does it mean, "that's it! Nothing they an do except for me to buy a new phone?"
We had insurance and were charged $5 for shipping or something. Is it less than a year old? If so it should be covered by warranty. They should replace it if that is the case.
It will depend on the nature of the problem, I think. There is a plastic tongue inside the microUSB port which can snap off. If there is physical damage, doubless TM/Samsung will deem it an insurance rather than a warranty issue.
The charge, whether $5 or $20, is probably for admin/shipping rather than the cost of repairing the device. Also Asurion has a deductible on their insurance, if the device needs replacement for non-warranty reasons. It was $130 the last time I checked, so insurance certainly does not cover every element of associated cost.
Is therte still a two-tier insurance with the more expensive version covering a year of extended warranty?
I found a replacement part and an instructional video but it is not for the timid. I don't know that I would do it.
Just buy a stand alone battery charger and a extra battery or two, then you can just charge the batteries outside the phone and exchgange them as needed.
You can get a really good deal on Amazon from Anker. I recently got two 1800 mAh batteries (larger capacity than normal OEM) and a dedicated charger for under $20. The charger looks a little flimsy, but works just fine and I graduated from cycling as many as three original 1500 mAh in a day to having one battery last for up to 24 hours. Wish I'd done it months ago.
I got 3 batteries and a stand alone charger on ebay for under $12 delivered.
