Hello all. I am writing this post because like you I got an iPhone 4 and couldn't recieve MMS on t-mobile. You have probably searched the internet over getting scattered information that didn't work for you because the person posting didn't mention one detail. Well I'll tell you everything you need to do in order to use MMS. But before we get started your device must be jailbroken and you must have Cydia installed.
Open Cydia and add this source: http://cydia.pushfix.info/
Once added add the package titled T-Mobile US MMS Fix...
Once installed go to your Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network > MMS
Username: (leave blank)
Password: (leave blank)
MMS Proxy: 22.214.171.124:8080
MMS Max Message Size: 2147483647
MMS UA Prof URL: http://apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
Please also make sure your 3G is turned off and data roaming is turned on under Network.
With those settings saved as such now reboot your device. You should be able to now send and recive MMS messages!
Please note these settings worked for me on my iPhone 4 Version 4.3.3 (8J2) on the T-Mobile unlimited plan. My phone is not unlocked but uses the Gevey Sim and a regular sim card from t-mobile cut down to the size of a micro.
Hope this helps solve your problems and best of luck!
Should anything be under cellular data? Such as in the APN line.
Nothing should be under the APN line for Cellular data, just the MMS data should be filled in as you see above. Let me know how it turns out for you.
I hope you can help me. I have an iPhone 4 with a Gevey sim card (no Cydia). I put in the settings for picture SMS as you had stated them. The problem is that I can send photos, but I'm not able to receive them. A message "the media content was not included due to a picure resolution or message size restrictions" appears.
But what is peculiar is when I send a photo to myself, it gets delivered.
Hey. It is still not letting me send photos. In the sending status bar it stops just before the end of the line and says "Message Send Failure".
Did you try the app by unlockit called Custom APN changer (google it)? It sets your settings for you, and you don't need cydia for it to work.
It seems that the mms settings vary depending on what network you are on, ie. sometimes its epc, sometimes its wap or even internet2 for the address. T-Mobile recommends the epc address, but it does not work for me.
would this let me send gifs to other people now? i got that media message was too big or something
Try this one here:
Recently I had some problems with my jailbroken unlocked iPhone 3G 3.0 on T-Mobile. I was getting the error: “The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction.”.
This is the fix for that:
Here's the screenshot:
Hope that helps!
To fix the error seen above use this tutorial
