    Note 3 not connecting to Windows 7


      When showing Albums (via the Camera app) and plugged into a Windows 7 PC, one of our two Samsung Note 3’s (SM-N900T, both with the same Android version/Kernel version/Build number) connects properly to three different Windows 7 computers; the other does not.


      Note A

      Installs as ‘Portable Devices (1)’ on the PC ‘Computer’ window and displays the expected AutoPlay window, through which all of the Note’s file structure seems to be available. The Note briefly flashes a “Connected as a media device” message.


      Note B

      Note briefly flashes the “Connected as a media device” message but does not connect; never shows on the Win7 ‘Computer’ window


      PC makes connection sound then shows “Installing device drive software MTP USB Device.” After a minute or so says driver software not successfully installed:  “MTP USB Device X Failed”


      Note eventually shows the message


      Unable to find software on your computer that can recognize your device. Service Pack 3, Windows Media Player, Version 10 or higher, for Widows XP or Android File Trans …


      You can download and install Kies on your compute from … “


      After failure (of Note B) to install, immediately pluged in Note A. PC makes connection sound and AutoPlay window displays.


      Is this 'fixable', or should I return Note B to the T-Mobile store for replacement?

          Hey jaustin_uf,


          This is strange, we want the file transfer to work on "Note B" too! When the message "Connected as a Media Device" shows on the Note B, there should also be a check box that selected. This message should also show in the notification bar after connecting to the PC, if you plug the Note B into a computer is this box checked? Do either of the phones have an SD card? Does the Note B look as though it's charging when it's plugged into the PC?
