I'm unable to set a photo to my lock screen. It will only show light or dark screen when phone is switched on. It will not show the photo I choose.
However when I power down the phone it will show the photo as it's shuts down. However after powering up again the photo will not show using the on /off switch. Switch it on and it will only show light or dark, no photo.
I have followed the users manual instructions and tried a variety of photos to no avail.
Can Anyone help?
You've probably been through this, but just in case...
1. From the Start screen, swipe left to see the full list of apps.
2. Select settings > lock screen.
3. Set Background to "photo."
4. Tap "change photo": navigate to the photo you want.
5. Crop the photo as you'd like it for the lock screen.
6. Press the checkbox button to confirm.
7. Set "Show artist when playing music" to Off. (When it is set On and the device is playing audio in the background, then the lock screen will show a built-in image or the album artwork, when it's available.)
Yes, that's the way I set. I've set it a few times now but so far nothing.
When I 1st got the phone a couple of days ago I was able to set a picture to the lock screen but it's since returned to a blank black or white lockscreen
The next thing to try is what T-Mobile likes to call the "master reset." (something like settings > about > reset)...
If it's still not working after that, there is probably a hardware issue and you'll need to get the phone exchanged.
Check your settings on each app that has settings to make sure they are not changing the lock screen. I had the black screen happen before and it was an app's setting that caused it (I just don't remember which app it was).
That's no fun! Does every picture have the same effect?
It sounds like there's definitely something in the device that's stopping it from letting you change your lock screen wallpaper. I would recommend trying the master reset and if that doesn’t help, please do contact us so that we can look at replacing the device.
If you do go through with the master reset, I will recommend that you only back up and restore your contacts to the device and manually download the applications. This will prevent whatever causes the lock screen picture to not stay put from getting back on the device without your permission.
Go to settings, then ease of access and make sure that the high contrast setting is OFF. That should fix the issue.
