To disable Web Guard, perform the following steps:
1.After logging into My T-Mobile, under Manage click Your profile.
2.Next to the Phone controls section, click the Edit link.
3.Click the link on the line of the phone number which you would like to turn Web Guard off of by clicking the Turn OFF link.
4.Click the Save changes button when finished

Hey, I've got a new T-Mobile cell -- tried other brands and had tech problems so I thought I'd give this brand a try. Don't know if I like or not, but I'm tired of buying new cell phones. I am having the SAME problem with trying to turn off web guard. Isn't there a solution for this problem? I'm sure most of us who bought this phone would like to get on the net with the phone sometimes too when we aren't at home or whatever and can use our computers.
Please let me know if calling tech svs would do any good or if we CAN'T change this feature because we have pre-paid cell.
I tried from to disable web guard (even from multiple browsers) through my profile on the website and I always get the message "An error occured while trying to save your preferences. Please try again."
I call support and of course get someone who I can't hear and have trouble understanding. She tells me that I will have to go through this every month because it will be re-enabled when the prepaid plan is renewed. Then she tells me that her attempt failed. So it is still enabled.
I never asked for this feature and don't want it. This is exactly the type of controlling BS that keeps me away from iPhones and contracts. And I am getting it anyway. The worst part of it is that I have been recommending tmobile prepaid to several of my friends who are now going to be PO'd also. This is enough to make me look into switching.

THIS WEB GUARD FEATURE IS INFURIATING. EVEN USING T-MOBILE SUPPORT IS INFURIATING BECAUSE I CAN SEE NO SUPPORT PERSON HAS RESPONDED TO ANY OF THESE POSTS. THE WHOLE THING IS OUTRAGEOUS. WHO ASKED THEM TO PUT THIS FEATURE ON? HOW DARE THEY RESTRICT MY INTERNET ACCESS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!

If you have activated a prepaid plan then the web guard is automatically activated reason being is there is no age requirement for prepaid so it has to come standard, to remove it you can go through the age verification but it doesn't always work because of course we are not tapped into the social security database, however if you have problems just stop by a t-mobile store with your photo ID and the rep can call customer service and override the age verification and get you all up and running.

I see you've had alot of helpful answers that could completely resolve your concern.
In any case that the WG has already been removed out of your acct and it has been more than 2 hrs frm the time it has been removed adn you are still getting the same error whenever accessing some specific websites,
try to clear the browsing history out of your phone
(Clear cache, cookies and history and steps may vary depending on the phone type)
and turn off your phone for 10 seconds and power it back on
once those ahs been done, try to again access website/s that you are unable to access before due to WG
