My phone constantly loses service. One typical case is that I can never get the service back after I stay in a place where there is no service for a long time unless I restart the phone. It happens with both call and data, but more frequently with data. I called customer service and I was told it is normal because there is an compatibility issue with S4 and LTE. I am just curious if all you guys with S4 have the same problem since I have to reboot my phone several times a day to solve this issue. Sometimes I can see the signal bar is full but I cannot make call, the problem will be solve once I restart the phone. It drives me crazy as I missed a lot of calls.
Does any one have any idea?
Pull noth the battery and sim
This should help
That sounds like there is something preventing it from searching for the network again.
Do you have any other problems like with lag or anything?
Typically I restart myphone once a day at night when I plug it in.
I don't know if you do other then when you are having the problem.
Also might help to try and boot the phone into recovery and wipe cache as well to make sure there is no conflicting data in there that might cause issues.
That's the first I've heard about an LTE compatibility problem, but googling around turned up some other reports of network connection dropouts (and varying answers from Samsung). I'm in and out of LTE, HSPA, and Edge modes all the time and have never had to reboot to use data.
Just as an experiment, you might want to try disabling LTE to see if it eliminates the problem. Go into Settings > More networks > Mobile networks > Network mode and set it to GSM/WCDMA (auto connect).
Did any of the suggestions above help? If not, let us know if this happens in a specific location or everywhere. Do you notice this at a certain time during the day?
I just kept observing how the phone works. It's really hopeless. The network connection dropout happens at all time and every where. I'm a commuter traveling between Flushing,Queens and Manhattan Midtown. I don't have connection at my home and at my office, I have to reboot it to get the service, sometimes the problem is on data connection, sometimes it's on call. It is clear it can't come back to service when it loses the network. Not each time, but quite frequently. , It makes the phone like a reboot machine. The customer representative told me it is a normal problem. However, I don't believe all T-mobile S4 users have such problem, otherwise the complaint could fill all the webpages. I am very frustrated. I hope I could change the phone. Anyone has any good idea?
I could lose connection at my home, at my office and at other places, I have to reboot it to get the service, sometimes the problem is on data connection, sometimes it's on call. It is clear it can't come back to service after it loses the network. (e.g. I can't get the service back after I take the subway, after I take the lift, after I go to somewhere with low signal such as supermarket, parking lot, and It could happen even I don't move anywhere.) Not each time, but quite frequently, and I lost a lot phone calls. It makes the phone as a reboot machine, and I have to make a phone call to test if it works all the day. I won't have these problems once I switch my SIM card to another phone. The customer representative told me it is normal because the LTE network is under construction and it is not so compatible with S4. However, I don't believe all T-mobile S4 users have such problems, otherwise the complaint could fill all the webpages.
If the problem cannot be fixed here, could you please tell me what's the proper workflow to change it or repair it or what ever, and how to let the customer representative believe it is a real problem!!!...
Yeah I can't replicate the problem on mine.
You can try and change the network mode to leave out lte in the setting and see if it still happens.
That would relate to that construction causing the problem since I would assume you're other phone don't have LTE.
If that don't fix it then try a master reset and see if it still happens.
If it does then I might say there is something wrong with the phone and contact them back and get a replacement sent.
Hi yuqin, did any of these suggestions help?
No. I recovered my phone and the problem stays there. I just contacted customer service, and they filed a ticket for me.
Did u pull the battery and sim
