If you look at my bill it fluctuates because I do buy things from the Play Store.  Also I am on a Value plan so our prices will be the same because you got the $20 discount.  If you weren't getting that discount you'd be paying $20 more than I do.

tidbits, now I see that you completely misunderstand the issue in this thread.  I am not getting $20 discount on my bill; I am getting $20 overcharge instead.

Let me try to clarify for you the way T-Mobile applies discounts, on the example of my actual 4/8/2013 bill:

Classic Fam UNL T&T Promo from 4/08/13 to 5/07/13  $99.98

    Promo AAL500 until 1/12/14 from 4/08/13 to 5/07/13  $5.00 (line (xxx) xxx-xxxx)

REQ Plus 2GB Data Classic from 4/08/13 to 5/07/13  $20.00 (line (xxx) xxx-xxxx)

REQ Plus 2GB Data Classic from 4/08/13 to 5/07/13  $20.00 (line (xxx) xxx-xxxx)

    Total before discount............................ $144.98

      15% T-Mobile Advantage discount           ($21.75)

Total after discount but before surcharges& taxes $123.23

    while it should be:

Classic Fam UNL T&T Promo from 4/08/13 to 5/07/13  $79.98

    Promo AAL500 until 1/12/14 from 4/08/13 to 5/07/13  $5.00 (line (xxx) xxx-xxxx)

REQ Plus 2GB Data Classic from 4/08/13 to 5/07/13  $20.00 (line (xxx) xxx-xxxx)

REQ Plus 2GB Data Classic from 4/08/13 to 5/07/13  $20.00 (line (xxx) xxx-xxxx)

    Total before discount............................ $124.98

      15% T-Mobile Advantage discount           ($18.75)

Total after discount but before surcharges& taxes $106.23

The point of contention is $99.98 (shown on my bill) vs. $79.98 (shown on my plan summary).

Or, in other words, $144.98 (shown on my bill) vs. $124.98 (shown on my plan summary).

tidbits, you never in this thread identified yourself as a T-Mobile employee, but I suspect you are if you saw my private information (name, mobile number) and were able to dig out the amounts I paid each month.  So, are you a T-Mobile employee?

If you are a T-Mobile employee, you probably heard about T-Mobile Advantage™ Program.  Yes, I am getting a T-Mobile Advantage discount on my bill.  Let's refer to a bill example at http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1101#summary that does not have this a discount; the Advantage discount would show up right after the "Monthly recurring charges" line:

TM employees who appear on these company sponsored forums are all identified w. the letters "t-mo" in their name.  The rest of us are users/customers, just like you.   (If Mr. Bits were an employee, he'd be in some trouble.  He's raised some complaints here as well.

You are getting a classic plan at the price of the Value plan.  IF you were in fact paying you'd end up paying the same.  The way you want it you want it less than what I am paying.  That's the simple truth.  So in essence everyone is overpaying...

Now if you do the surcharges and taxes I bet you will be closer to what you are paying now...

There's one more thing I like to add. If you are in a state that charges 10% tax or higher is nearly axes out your discount. At 10% you get taxed $10. With state and regulatory fees(varies by state). As you can see there goes your $18 discount or majority of it. Even if your bill was $105 with the regulatory and fees you end up paying $120ish give or take.

Last I remember I haven't changed my plan in a while, or it may be on my Verizon lines they'd have a screen summary that showed pre and post discount pricing.

Now look at this summary.  Now if you are pricing your plan based on the SAME thing I have...

Notice how my fees negate my discount?  Now if I get rid of PHP I would be paying in the $110-115 range.  My state charges 4.6% tax.  This is just an example.  Our bills only differ by 1 penny BEFORE discount, taxes, and fees are applied.

End result you are paying exactly what you should be paying, and you are not being charged an extra $20...
