I have had the Windows Phone 8x for about a week. I have not been able to send or receive any MMS, including to my own number. From the other discussions I have read through, this issues has not really been resolved. Does anyone have any more up-to-date information or advice?
Do you get a error message when you try to send? Have you tried to go to messaging, hit the 3 buttons and tap settings.
Scroll to the bottom and select add mms apn
MMSC (URL): http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMSC port: 80
IP type: IPv4
Edit: Just in case, your internet apn should read as follows:
IP type: IPv4v6
Yes, I did that earlier. I also chatted with someone online this afternoon who had me turn off the phone, take out the sim card, and turn the phone back on. He was then unable to help me any further and suggested I call for advanced troubleshooting.
What happened when you called in for Tech Support?
Cross posting for same issue:
Ok I've finally gotten MMS to work on my unlocked HTC 8x. Just as a heads up, the tmobile version doesn't have the MMS APN configuration as it's provided automatically.
However if you're using an unlocked HTC 8x here are the MMS APN settings that work:
User name: <leave empty>
Password: <leave empty>
WAP gateway (URL): http://188.8.131.52
Note: I tried the above with no "http://" and it did NOT work. Please ensure you use the full address shown.
WAP gateway port: 8080
Maximum MMS size: <leave empty>
IP Type: IPv4
After saved, POWER OFF PHONE AND RESTART PHONE.
I was able to send and recieve MMS after using the above settings and steps.
I HAVE A WINDOWS 8X HTC. WAS ORIGINALLY A "VERIZON" PHONE, NOW ON TMOBILE NETWORK. oops sorry for caps lock... have not been able to send or receive MMS since. techy friend said it was because it was a verizon phone, not a tmobile phone. extremely frustrating to be hobbled this way, and making me think of going back to verizon.
What about the sms center number? Should that be changed? I've done all of the above instructions, double and triple checked and still no media.
i have the verizon model but when i looked it just had internet apn
