I know I had this problem with my last phone and can't remember how to fix it. Hopefully someone here can help me.
I send a picture to my daughters. They both have iPhones. They respond to my message and I receive their messages as Anonymous caller with a MMS message, when I click on the arrow to open the message it acts like it is downloading but nothing ever opens.
Thank you for your help.
You do have your data enabled, right? I turn mine off all the time to save battery (wifi n is so fast!) and I have to remember to turn on data or MMS won't work.
Not sure, how do I check?
Settings> data usage> is Mobile data checked?
Yes it is
I get this occasionally. Seems to happen when I interrupt the original incoming message notification, even before the download starts. Don't know what to do about it. I can usually tell who the mms was from, so I just ask them to re-send.
I am having this problem as well... it's really frustrating. I do use handcent for most messaging but I set it to default for SMS only because for some reason it won't send/receive MMS when on wifi calling so I do that in the stock messaging app. I got annoyed enough once to uninstall handcent but I have all these specific settings for contacts that I installed it again by the end of the day. I will get a message popup that says I have a photo and I will click, the screen will sleep (it always does that, even on my G2) and I unlock and nothing is there - not in handcent or standard but there is a "nothing" message from a hidden address.
Okay, I am having this problem in group conversations. If I don't start the conversation, but am included in the conversation, i will get messages that may initially show they are from a specific person, but then switch to saying Hidden Sender Address and they go into a folder labeled anonymous. When I then try to open the message (which is labeled as a MMS), it then is blank with zero info. The ONLY thing I've found as a common theme so far is that the other senders are using iPhones. Please Please Please, can someone from tech assist with this issue? It's starting to affect my business.
It happens to me from different phones, different carriers; actually never from an iPhone. So I guess it can come from across the board.

It always happened from my husband’s IPhone, but today it happenedfrom a Note II. It was sent right in front of me, and I watched it switch fromthe number to unknown. Why can’t tech support answer this?
