My Prism is telling me that it is low on space and gives me the suggestion to move apps to the SD card. I can figure out how that is supposed to work in theory, but the button to do so is grayed out. I read that some apps don't allow movement, but it is the same for every app I look at. My SD card is otherwise accessible; for example, I play the music that's stored on it while I work. I would like to move some apps to the SD card, or install future apps directly to it since this phone is so miserly with space. Please advise.
hope this works...
Doesn't really apply to moving apps, though. Those don't seem to copy and stay intact. I just can't believe this phone has such a dismal amount of space for programs. I have put nothing on it and its full.
I have the same problem. Move to SD card is grayed out on all the items I want to move and I cannot download any new apps, unless they automatically install to the SD card. Is there a way to tell it to install all new apps to my 32 GB SD card??
While there isn't a way to tell apps to install onto the sd card be default, a common trick is to remove an app or two long enough to move others, thereby freeing up space to put the removed apps back.
As far as apps that can be moved, that has to be enabled on the app itself, since they run differently when on an SD card. Most commonly, any app that runs in the background (think alarms, map services, etc) or apps that run widgets on your home screen will not be able to move to the SD card.
