I used to receive 4g in my area and I double checked the coverage and I'm in the best coverage area but my phone suddenly goes from 4g to H/3g. Is there a reason why this may have happened. I didn't go over limit for sure.
That could be anything from maintainance on towers to weather affecting signal. It's not likely anything to do with your phone or usage. (If you were throttled, it would be down to Edge speeds.)
it was just weird..it was 4g then 2 minutes later it bumped down to H/3g
just wondering though, i thought the sensation 4g is know to not show the 3g logo on the status/notification bar. over at xda, they said that it usually either shows 4g or 2g or g (gprs). this is also what happens to me too. is that true?
H will read 4G, H+ will read 4G, UMTS also reads 4G.
EDGE reads 2G and GPRS reads G
Not sure what you're seeing but maybe you're using a different phone?
I was wondering the same thing...is this a TMO branded Sensation? Never heard of ANYONE seeing 3G or H on a TMO Sensation
He is using a different branding or ROM. That is IF he has the HTC Sensation but could be different phone altogether.
Like servbotx said, the 'H' icon represents 4G
yeah its weird since the manual i downloaded from tmobile (or HTC usa forgot which one) website for the sensation 4g does show the 3g icon.
mine drops down and says 3g
If you're throttled, T-Mobile cuts you back to 50Kbps. Your phone will still show a 3G or EDGE connection, but your data speed is severely limited.
EDGE is 200-500Kbps.
I have a T Mobile branded htc sensation and all I ever see is 4G or 2G. I don't recall ever seeing H.
