My wifi calling used to work fine. But recently, going back to at least last Wednesday or so, wifi calling on my G2x won't connect. Occasionally I'll start the app and it says I'm not registered for wifi caling, which is goofy, but then even if it doesn't, it gets stuck on "Enabling..." and never finishes connecting. So wifi calling doesn't work.
I've done factory reset, thinking that might help, and it did not work. But on the plus side I got to reinstall everything. I also have turned on and off wifi, removed my wifi network and re-added it, and reset my router (which works fine because here I am on the internet using wifi).
1.Do you have your speakers, fan or anything with static?
2.Are you within reach of your modem?
3.Is it cloudy,Storm nearby,etc?
4. It might be the app itself? if so let sometime towork a overnight if not call Tech support They can check and see if there is something going on!!
It seems that your one of many people having this issue!
I'm under a roof around 5 feet away from the wireless router, which as I mention works fine because my PC is online via wifi.
FWIW it's broken with the wifi at work, too - and that's where I really need it because my signal is weak out in BFE. So it's either the phone (not unlikely; ever since LG proclaimed no ICS upgrade for the G2x I've been cursing it and nVidia) or T-mobile.
Maybe I'll just go buy a Galaxy Nexus. After I win the lotto.
OK the message is back and I can give it verbatim:
(triangle with exclamation point) Not Registered
You are currently not registered with the T-Mobile Network. Would you like to register to enable Wi-Fi Calling?
Totally weird considering I'm on the network, phone calls work, wifi browsing works, and texting/MMS are working.
There is another thing I am thinking the walls could also cause problems such as concrete, metal, etc! Like I said it would be a good Idea if you called Tech Support there is really no way to really tell unless there is a full scan, which I would do it with you but it could take me all week but I got College, Plus I don't want to waste your valuable time! Time is money and you desire to have greaat service. I just hope that Tech Support are diligent! I would not wait then if I where you call immediately!
are you on Airplane mode?
It seems There might be network conflict.
I am going through the steps your taking!
I was looking at other forums and I found that updating the OS 2.2.2 to 2.3.4 fix the problem do you have it updated if you don't mine me asking?
Here is the link if you want to check it out.
I do apologize but I am going through the Network Support Technician procedures of a elimination to take out the easy ones out then take it to the extreme level later!Which I don't suggest that to you unless you can deal with a rooted phone!I don't want to add more but if I did help you to root your phone you still will have other problems because it is not a stable OS this I would consider only if you are familiar with root OS' Versions!
Additionally, make sure you don't have one of the new GBA SIM cards, the G2X uses the old UICC SIMs for WiFi calling and the new type won't work with this handset.
What u mean by new simcard? What number?
Yes, I'm running stock 2.3.4. I have been since I got the phone in late May, and at first wifi calling worked. Now no go.
Okay this one is a worried one take off the cover! then get it a shot I have seen other forums and the cover could be the problem! Like electrodyne said make SURE!!! because sims card could make a difference plus I have not seen on your post that you call tech support to rule out problems.? Because I have a slight haunch that it might be the sims card. Additional to satisfy this even better give tmo_adam_c a private message which should be at the right top coner of the page on the bar search and type as I gave you!! I am sure with this combo we can together fix this issue once and for all! Of course if you need to a deep breathe and exhale
This happens for me as well, just bought the phone five days ago.
