My HTC Sensation 4G's GPU or screen appears to have gone faulty. It didn't happen from a fall or liquid, just one time I turned on the screen to check notifications and the screen is completely fuzzy -- just like if you tune your tv to a channel that doesn't have a broadcast on it. The phone still works though, as I can swipe up to unlock the screen and then make it vibrate on keypress while hitting the buttons on the bottom. As the phone was purchased September 20, 2011 are they covered under any T-Mobile warranty or return policy? I have Handset Protection on it but that's $100 a claim so I'd rather use that as a last resort.
Thanks in advance,
Since you said that it didn't happen from physical damage or liquid damage, I would call T-Mobile and let them know what happened. You shouldn't have to file a claim for insurance. They should replace it free of charge.
Thanks missvida for the advice. I contacted T-Mobile over chat and they are allowing me to do a handset exchange. Costs $20 but that's a small price to pay since it covers shipping and saves me from buying another $400 device. It seemed to matter that I had Handset Protection (which doesn't really make sense if this is a warrany replacement) but in any case UPS ground will be delivering my new device in the next couple of days.
Much appreciate the help missvida!
Glad I could be of assistance! I've replaced many a device with Tmobile and they've always come through. Glad they are still keeping their word.
