So to recap, after the ICS upgrade, my phone would not recognize the SIM card, it freezes randomly and error "com.android.phone closed unexpected" appears all the time.
I spoke to a Live Rep yesterday and he suggested to take the phone to a store which I did and they did a master reset and tried another brand new SIM card and still not working.
A new Galaxy S2 is now on its way to be delivered to my house under the warranty.
For the time being, I am going to hold on ICS until TMO-Samsung fixes the bugs.
ok try this for your battery it worked for me and it seems like the battery holds better...
1. turn your phone off
2. pull your battery out
3. connect your phone to wall charger (with out battery)
4. press and hold pwr button (wait for phone to vibrate 3 times and let go of power button)
5. with the phone still connected put your battery on the phone
6. let it fully charge...
hope this helps...
ok, things are geting much better, found out that some apps dont play nice with ics, like wordswf(i know, i, know, i play with my daughter, lol). sadly only like 8% of the world has ics so app dev are not working as hard as they could for ics compatible apps, which i dont blame them when a majority of folks are on gb or lower. still working on conditioning battery, will try post from (bebe_sfp). over all the longer you are on it the more ics becomes fluid and fast, using apex launcher. oh yea had to install flash from a pc on google play cause i was getting error message 941 on phone. seems to have helped with browsing and some apps.
Post ICS, I am having issues with significant battery drain. Also, I am unable to receive text messages while on wi-fi calling. I can make calls, but don't talk on the phone very much, so not sure if can receive over wi-fi calling. Other than that everything is working fine. I have already done a factory reset, and also cleared cache partition. And the battery drain and being unable to receive text on wi-fi calling still remain.
Sorry to hear that.Try this go to Settings>Applications>Press Running>choose apps>press stop
Everytime you turn off the phone:Active Applications icon> exit all
press RAM>clear memory
It help to stop battery drain because apps are still running on the background
Try to uninstall apps that you dont need specially the free one.
update to ICS, before master reset i have few probelm
1.wifi range be come shorter and harder to connect.
2.battery life drain faster then GB.
3.receive msg about hr later. (maybe wifi is one?)
4. same as voice msg, a day after. ( maybe becuse the wifi is on? i think i was getting msg after 4g is on?)
5. phone call over wifi, take about 25 to 30 sec to dial a call. turn off wifi, it dial instantly. (my wife has same problem her phone still on Gb)
after first time master rest.
1. wifi range, same problem.
2. battery life are worst.
3. if turn on wifi calling, can't make call or sending msg.
4. phone feel slower. somthing feel it stop doing what i ask to do or puse to puse. dont feel as smooth as GB
reset sec time.
same problem as first time master reset nothing help.
one more thing, on the screen lock with pattern, dont see the green line when i doing the pattern, but i can i open the phone, it should be like this?
i try that clear memory, battery life are still bad..
i fully charge last nite around 9:pm once i turn one it show 97%, 3 % to turn on phone? now as i post this msg only 15% left, i have not do anything at all just turn on all nite then 80% are gone.
still trying the ICS, will update again.
Updated fine and no major crashes but everything is a second or two slower than it used to be: opening apps, the keyboard, scrolling through list views. etc. Just feels really janky now and that is after a factory reset and clearing the cache partitions.
The screen has some issues in registering taps. I'll tap an icon and it will be as if I didn't touch it.
