How the H#&& is it legal for LG to put out an OS update for my specific type of phone that ends up being a distribution package for Google to invade my privacy with their 3rd party software.  That and I cannot even uninstall it without voiding my warranty!!!!  **** I am P.O.'d  My phone was getting 30 - 40+ hours per charge and now with Google+ constantly running it gets less than 30.  Is there anything I can do to get this stupid **** off my phone?

You do know Google is Android. Google put it in their own software.

Well, in a way, you are technically correct.  However, when I downloaded my update directly from the LG support tool, Google+ was not automatically installed on my phone through the update, so I don't have it as a running app that I cannot uninstall.  It wasn't actually re-downloaded until I signed into my Google account and my apps were being re-installed.

So, while it is a Google product, apparently T-Mobile decided to include it in their OTA update as an app that cannot be deleted (like T-Mobile mall, My Account, etc.).  So, he has a right to be angry, although the level of anger is a bit much.  But, his anger is also misdirected at LG instead of T-Mobile.

Got the update yesterday 05/02/12. Charge my phone last nite at 10pm until full battery. Got to work this morning and only have 40% battery left. This update is draining my battery. Tmobile really need to send through another update soon or I will be leaving.

Sorry to hear that you're having battery drain problems.  That's quite the opposite that I've experienced, as my battery life has greatly improved.  One suggestion that I would make is to check the apps that you've installed.  I've found that some of them don't play nice, and drain my battery significantly.  Another suggestion is to maybe do a factory reset of your phone and see if that clears up the problem.  I know that no one likes to reset their phone, but sometimes it does help to clear out any problems.

I would try out some things first before leaving T-Mobile because of a phone.  Good luck!

Sorry for the blast in my previous post.  I am not angry at LG at all.  Great company with great quality products and I truly feel I have an awesome phone!!!!!  I was P.O.'d and wondering how it is legal for TMO or Google to take an update from LG(usually a Firmware or OS update) and implement their own 3rd party software package that clearly utilizes privacy information to devices without even giving the recipient the option of being able to remove it.  These updates are not "Original Pre-packaged software included with purchasing the phone".  It was downloaded from the market as an update.  Also, never does it notify me what was included in the update.  Guess they don't need to as they are betting that the majority of people who get this update will not be rooting their phones because they either don't know how to, are not willing to brick their phone or they are not willing to lose the warranty on their phone.  At one time, I had Facebook on my phone and didn't like how it ran and ate up my battery.  I was able to uninstall that when I wanted.  I will never use this software that I can't uninstall or stop from executing 24/7.  In my opinion, this is bad business and stinks of a monopolistic giant flexing it's will on the consumer.

I didn't had that problem before and i did not add any new app since. so its the update or i think its the google apps that was install with the update. I have no use for those apps... I don't need another socal network (googel +) or upload music to google or rent movies on my phone.. will have to make a decision to leave or I might have to root my phone just to remove those ****.

I also have battery issues since da update.. my battery drains in less then 10 hours. I used to get 14 to 18 hours depending on use. I have tried a reset with no luck. I plan on rooting my devise to see if I can fix this issue.  Can someone plz leave me a link on how to do so. Would be greatly appreciated. Thx

I just did an Hard reset.. will see if this work..

Reset by shutting phone down and then PRESS THE POWER + VOLUME DOWN BUTTON. Release once the LG logo disappear and it should reset. Saw a purple bar at bottom of screen now... Hopefully this work will post if it does.

    Resetting did the trick..

    Enterprise log

After hard reset (not the shut the phone down or pull the battery) lost all apps and setting

Reinstall all my apps and setting

    05/03/12 @ 11pm phone 100% charge

    05/04/12 @ 9:24am phone has 94% battery.

I guess you need to do a hard reset.

Glad that worked for you.  I would hate to see you leave T-Mobile just because of a phone

It seems like the OTA is not resetting the phone properly during the update, or missing some step that happens when you update via the LG support tool.

I am glad it work too.. I am not a heavy user and i make approx 2 or 3 calls less then 5 min per day sometime none at all. but i do get a lot of email and some texts.. so it was fraustrating that my battery would die so fast after the update when i use to charge my phone every other day.. battery still in the 90's % happy about that..

    I did my update OTA..

I think the phone is a lot faster. Don't know if anyone notice but the front face camera is a lot clearer now.. before it was a bit grainy...

    Thanks alll
