For about 2 weeks the voicemail icon on my status bar will not go away no matter what I do. I have no voicemails in my inbox, I have deleted everything, even the ones I wanted to keep saved. That didn't do any good. I also left myself a voicemail and deleted it, that didn't work. HELP!
I am sure the Gingerbread update will help, but I'd like to wait to get that until the OTA.
I had the same probklem when I updated to 2.3. Just call your number from another phone and leave a voicemail. Then, just check your voicemail and delete it. Worked for me, hope this helps!
Oops, didn't see you already tried this. I don't know what to tell ya, I guess just try it a few more times.
You might want to call T-Mobile on this one. They might need to do something on their end.
Hit Menu Key on phone-->settings --> call or call settings (depends on phone) --> check/uncheck clear voice call notification.
Hope this helps!
Do a battery pull restart on the phone. Have someone or yourself call and leave a v/m on your phone. Call your v/m from the phone and listen to the whole message until you get the voice prompts. Type in "7" which I believe is delete, let it cycle through saying "message deleted; main menu" then hang up. Do another reboot. Give it a few minutes. If it hasn't gone away doing it like this. Call tmobile from another phone and request for them to do a signal reset/refresh on your line. Please let us know if this works for ya.
Did you install an app to retrieve your voicemail. Like Google Voice or something else. If so, go into settings>calling settings and make sure that Voicemail Service and VoiceMail Settings are set to My Carrier. See if that drops off the VoiceMail notification.
protohamsters response worked for me. thanks
