when im driving i use voice command mode thru my cars blue tooth connection to make calls. That works great but once the phone screen goeas blank i have to unlock the screen before voice command will work again.
Does anyone know how to make the phone respond to voice commands even when the screen is locked?
Go to your apps menu>Voice command follow procedures to set-up Voice command and you should be able to wake your phone as it will be listening. Always listening.
Hit menu on your phone and you have to go into Settings to Activate Listening and Wake Up Command and make sure you're on the Voice Talk setting.
Being in Driving Mode with Voice Talk Activated and on the charger I don't think the screen will time out. I'm testing it now.
Sorry about all the post but for some reason it won't let me edit. Any who.., my phone is set to timeout in 2 minutes and I'm going on 15. Just as I suspected Voice Talk, with Driving Mode activated doesn't time out your screen and you still can talk to your awesome phone.
I think what the OP is asking is using the car's bluetooth commands to dial a number instead of the phone's voice talk or car home apps. It should still work when the screen is locked as long as the phone is pared to the car. mine does.
I suspect either the bluetooth connection is either not connected or being dropped when going into sleep mode. does your car say there is no phone pared when the screen is locked? do you have a battery saver app or some other app which kills/suspends features when the phone is off?
Did the suggestions provided help you out at all?

My screen still timesout and locks. ughh. Im thinking it has to do with using the phones builtin lock pattern(helps keep the kids out of the phone) so i guess my next step is to disable the lock and see if that helps.
Did turning off your Pattern Lock work?
I have my kdis as well always picking up my phone, so a pattern lock or PIN lock always does help. Unfortunately, due to security, some features will not work well with those on.
but with my kids around im very leery of turning it off. ive just got good at swiping the lock pattern without looking.
since i have contacts spread all around the world a 6 year old could have some very expensive fun.
I don't want there to be those late night China calls. Have a good day
lol oh yeah..it could get just a tad expenisive.
