Apologies if that post is misplaced.
I will soon make it to the US from Europe and am starting to look for mobile providers but can't find reliable information as to what I can expect from them in terms of accepting my European phone.
I have a samsung omnia pro 4 (running windows 6.5)and am considering buying a motorola defy+ because there is no mobile device on offer in the States that features all of its qualities but will it work in the US (on T-mobile or another provider) and will it connect at 3G speend ? I don't need much call time except at the beginning when i will be looking for a flat.
Any help appreciated !
Thanks for the post the defy+ does not have the correct frequencies to operate on our 3G network. From what I can see it is able to handle the 1900 and 2100 bands which is what AT&T uses for their 3G network. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks a lot for your help !
Not a problem at all, if you have any further questions feel free to ask or PM me and thanks for contacting T-Force
Does the same apply for an unlocked Motorola Razr Maxx phone? The specs appear to be as follows:
GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS: 900, 2100 MHz
Data: HSDPA 14.4 Mbit/s, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS
Would it be able to access the Tmobile 3g/4g network?
No. You would get Edge only on that device.
So, what specs would work with Tmobile for 3g?
AWS/UMTS/WCDMA: 1700/2100 band
