T-Mobile decided to nickle and dime it's long time customers and charge you "only $15 more a month for 5gb and hot spot feature". We have been on the phone with T-Mobile today about this same notification. My husband has been trying to connect his tablet to his hotspot while he's in the field working and it keeps bringing up the t-mobile page that says he needs to add the feature to use hotspot. But, it works fine on my phone. Loyalty rep I taked to today said it was an error that phones connected to hotspot before and with new system upgrade they were fixing the error and all customers have or will be getting a notice that they need to add the paid feature to use hotspot anymore. Older phones (like mine) will get the notification later while newer phones (like my hubs) have already been notified. I told her it was one of the selling features of my Blackberry 4 years ago and then my My Touch 2 years ago to be able to use the phones as a hotspot! She said she knew that, but it was still an error. The loyalty rep my husband just finished talking to had another story. Said it was a promotion with the My Touch to have hotspot access on my phone and because hubs is newer he didn't have that option free.
This is just another in a long line of disappointments with how T-Mobile treats it's long time customers. You'd think AT&T really did take over. Customer service sucks, benefits for being a loyal customer are non-existant anymore and we are done. Paying ETF asap and getting far away from this company we used to tell everyone to join!
