I paid 500 US dollars outright. If this model does not receive the latest update, I will leave T-Mobile, for Verizon. I have been a very loyal customer to T-Mobile. As it stands, this is not right, what happened to no Andoid phone left behind. This phone is extremely capable of ICS, it has a dual core processor, but is crippled by software. I am no fool, I know what this phone is capable of. Now is your chance to prove to me, and to keep me, as a valued customer. I will not buy into your gimmick.
Same here.no updates i will go to verizon.
it's not TMO, but LG.
"what happened to no Andoid phone left behind" - hahaha, that was said 2 years ago and they didn't do anything then either.
Well I'm leaving Tmobile and I'm leaving android. Possibly sooner than I planned. I am moving to Sprint and getting an iPhone. I love android but its unstable and the longer you have an adroid device the worse it opperates. Out the box they are great but 3 to 6 mths down the road you are pulling batteries to get the thing unfrozen. I'm done. These devices cost entirely to much to be going through all this hell
I like android too but hoe u said thr ting with batteries is so bad.they need updates to compete with iphone.customer service at apple is amazing.
ok, so it has nothing to do with ICS. maybe it's an app (or combo of apps) which is causing your issues. if it worked great at first, then it's probably something you added. At least you can pull the battery
what update is needed to compete with the iphone? last I heard, iphone just got notifications which android has had from the beginning. Siri? who uses that after a week? Google Voice Search works just as well. Voice Turn-by-turn Navigation - iphone doesn't have it (for free). Sure, customer service is great. they control the HW and SW on only 3 (maybe 4) phones.
you want to get an iphone, great, go for it. But don't rationalize it because you didn't get the latest update (which very few phones have received so far).
Yet another useless thread. ICS has been ported (Cyanogenmod9) to this phone. It works...I'm using it as my daily driver. I doubt LG/Nvidia will release ICS for this phone.
There is not yet a stable release of CM9.

"Stable?" I think you have a different definition for that. Everything works except for minor things like videocam...which can be compensated for by using a 3rd party app. Face unlock, drop down notification toggles, etc. all work. Remember, it may not be a rom issue but rather an ICS limitation...
would you call LG's Gingerbread release 'stable'
The only release listed as stable from the CM people is 7.
Why don't you check out Eagle's Blood or Hellfire Sandwich roms...directly on the XDA G2x forum. Then come back and say it's not stable
Also no hardware Accelaration.
I am total support, We as customer get away from LG-TMOBILE , if they can not keep up with technology.
If XDA developers can bring ICS to G2x why it is big deal ?
This phone is crappy in its current format. I talked with TMOBILE Customer service for several hours and they really do not care.
I am switching to verizon as soon as get chance
why are people so agry with the company's you havn't even given them a chance... cyanogenmod team has been working on ics for some time and are known for getting them out fast and you exspect that lg could do it faster? also how is this anything to do with tmobile? just let it go and realize unless you are going to buy a new phone every time android gets an update or buy a nexus your going to have to wait.
