cant say im thrilled by the so called design of ICS on our sensation since i love the way sense is now on our phones, but this is great news!
Don't get too excited, this info was posted on the HTC main site, not the HTC USA Facebook page. T-Mobile still has to approve it before it's pushed out and as major software upgrades like this mean increased calls to the their (T-Mobile)support center (and henced increased labor costs), T-Mobile USA is not likely to push this out within the end of March time frame. I'd say they will sit on it until at least the second half of the year and watch what problems other carriers run into with this. There is also the possiblity that T-Mobile will not release it at all as it is not an incremental upgrade but rather a complete overhaul which will result in massive increase in traffic at their call centers. T-Mobile is in a mode where they will do whatever they can to reduce labor costs.
it was also posted on the HTC USA Facebook page.
T-Mobile USA is refusing to commit to the HTC timeline, rather they are talking about rolling out ICS in upcoming months. Sounds like it's still several months away for us https://www.facebook.com/TMobile/posts/10150584840043895?notif_t=feed_comment
no carrier would .. i've told people that i don't expect it at all during the first part of the year. whenever it does happen though, i hope they implement the store upgrade thing again. i hate the OTA method.
The HTC statement clearly says "Sensation 4G". Only our devices have that name. So we are the only ones they could be targeting.
T-Mobile holds their cards a little closer to their vest, but they're working with HTC who has let us know the plan. So by end of March.
Our devices have been getting timely updates in the past and so there's no reason to assume anything different this time.
If a deadline is missed, it happens, but they're planning end of March and it will be no surprise if the deadline is fully met.
T-Mobile didn't even affirm the Sensation's original release date till just days prior. It's how they do things.
This is no different from when you all have deadlines on your own jobs. You try to meet them, if you can avoid it you might not even give a fixed deadline to the open public, but you do what you can to meet your internal company goals.
i'm good either way .. my own personal interest in it has waned quite a bit after seeing that it will be another Sense beat down so to speak lol. i'd much prefer as much of the original ICS as possible but that seems to not be the case with HTC and their Sense implemenation.
oh well though .. i'll take the features they manage to keep from ICS. and just hope for another ICS device from HTC that mixes Sense and ICS a bit better so that it's more ICS showing. right now it just looks like Sense has discarded everything from ICS cosmetically and only kept a few features like face lock and such.
I think you'll like it more than hate it once you have it in your hands .
Also keep in mind this is a newer version of Sense as well.
oh yeah? i didn't know they were updating Sense as well .. hopefully i like it as you say though
Yes, the version of Sense that you're using is such a dinosaur it's turning into oil .
