T-Mobile is displaying someone else's name to the people I call along with my correct number. I have no idea who this person is or why it is happening. I use my phone for business and this creates a very unprofessional image. I have talked with a number of customer service reps since last spring. The situation has been 'escalated' but it has not been corrected. Before porting my number to TMO 1 year ago my caller ID was correct. I am growing weary of answering questions about my caller ID to the people I call.
Thank you for your assistance.
If the initial troubleshooting does not correct your issue, a help desk ticket needs to be filed. Contact us, and a customer care, or technical support representative will be able to file that for you.
Thank you for your reply. At least 2 help desk tickets were created last year but nothing was done to correct the problem. I am not confident a 3rd help desk ticket will be fruitful. I would be grateful if you would put me in direct contact with some one who has the authority to correct this issue.
Someone on another forum asked who my local telephone company was and thought that was relevant. My local telco is AT&T however the problem of incorrectly displaying the wrong name to the people I call occurs on calls all over the country involving multiple telcos not strictly AT&T but always the name "Dasia Finch".
Check your PMs.
I am having the same issue. How do I get this fixed?
I have had the same problem since I got the phone a month ago. I call every 72 hours to "escalate" the issue. T-Mobile keeps saying they can't do anything because they use another company to handle caller id. My only option seems to be to keep calling.
the company that has the land line you are calling too has to be called if they are using the other caller id provider nothing t-mobile can do at that point.
Call the provider of the number you are calling so it is updated in the database they use.
Happens with any other provider, Brighthouse, Verizon, Sprint. They all say problem is on T-Mobiles end. Over the numerous times I have called T-Mobile support, they pass the buck to some mysterious 3rd party that handles their caller ID. They always promise to fix the problem within 72 hours, but never do. I guess this sort of thing comes with using an "economical" provider like T-Mobile.
"Check your PMs" WHAT does that mean.. What is PMs?
Will this Fix the fact that when I call someone they think it is someone else because the caller ID has the name of the number's PREVIOUS Owner... not me or mine. Help me fix this.
It's been almost 6 months and Brighthouse is the only service I know of that hasn't updated their database despite repeated calls. Brighthouse claims the update request has to come from T-Mobile. T-Mobile claims they have sent the request multiple times. I tend to believe T-Mobile since Verizon and Comcast have updated their databases. Other than repeated calls to every provider, there's not any recourse. Maybe someday there will be a single database or at least linked databases. Until then everyone with this problem is SOL.
