When I answer my phone or make a call, the music player also starts and I hear the music on top of my conversation. Thus I cannot hear what the other person is saying. The person at the other end does not hear the music and when the phone hangs up, the music gets louder.
Now, I rarely even use the music player. But the only way to shut off the music is to go into the player and pause it. But it will start up again when the phone rings.
It generally stops if I reboot, but then intermittently, the problem recurs.
This is obviously extremely annoying. Any solutions?
Are you using a headset? I think it's possible to set the music player to start when the headset is connected. Maybe that's what's happening?
No, this is NOT when using a headset, although it has previsouly occured when using a wired headset.
I'm sorry the music player is interfering with your phone calls, that must make it almost impossible to use the device as a phone. I definitely want to make sure we get this resolved from you.
Was the phone working properly before? If it was working properly and suddenly started this behavior, it may be the result of a application installed from the Market or elsewhere. If you installed any applications right before this started happening, I'd recommend to try uninstalling them to see if that corrects the issue.
If not, the next step would be to attempt a Master Reset on the device and testing before installing any applications. This will wipe out information on your G2x so you definitely want to follow the step about backing up your information. To ensure your memory card isn't accidentally erased we also recommend removing it for this process.
Let me know if this helps!
Because the problem is intermittent, it's difficult to trace. I did find and uninstall one suspect app.
I hope that solves the issue.
Was the application the culprit? Or did you have to try the master reset?
I had that problem all the time with my headphones on my last (Samsung Gravity Smart) T-mobile Android. I now have the MyTouch Q, can I look forward to it on this one as well? It's awfully annoying, and I have no music apps on the phone at all since the phone is new.
