I guess it must be the phone, cause with my galaxy SII I have no problem sending messages and mms in wifi only. Like I said my son is unable to and worse even with data on he is limited to picture size and how many he can send. I am also but not near the limit he is.
As has been restated repeatedly throughout this discussion, everyone experiencing this issue already has data turned on and is able to receive picture messages. Even if you overlooked that previously, wouldn't the fact that multiple calls to tech support didn't help be an indication that it's not a simple settings issue? You may as well repeatedly suggest turning the phones on.

It may not be phone per se. It may also be the app that is built in or using. Android app for messaging (in your case) probably uses WiFi than data.
Perhaps, you can try other free apps for Windows Phone 7 for texting via WiFi.
1. "WhatsApp" is well known text app - Android has one too. It uses WiFi.
2. "IM+" is also well known.
3. "GroupMe" app might work as well.
Choose the one that works for you and your son.
Your right I forget they are different systems. I keep thinking it is not a windows based system.
Well that could be the problem right there...;-)
I use the original text and mms. No market app, but there might be one fir his phone to try
Ok people they have just switched out my phone for a diffrent type. what they have decided after many many hours on the phone with tech support is that this phone will not send data on a 2 g network. so if your phone is not showing a 4g on it. It will never work right.
Mine does the same thing. Getting very tired of this already and tired of not getting issue resolved. My daughter and I both have the Radar. Hers will send pic txts sometimes, mine NEVER will. Same phone, same age, same account, same settings. I think HTC should give all the customers their mony back and build a phone that works!
