Who-hoo! Finally fixed for me. Now I only have to monitor my account for unauthorized charges.

Since I couldn't find a way to submit a Trouble Ticket, I called T-mobile Tech Support and Jenny helped me out.

My story... on 3/1/12, I chatted with Customer Care and asked they block the thieving thugs that started stealling $9.99/mo for worthless text message tips and facts. They blacklisted the thugs' numbers and also blocked 3rd Party Services. After that, I couldn't get text messages from Bank of America, UPS, Amazon, or US Bank. Interestingly, texts to Google at 466453 worked (try "define thugs"). Two chats with Customer Care did not help. They said there was no other block than the thieving thugs numbers - I verified the numbers with them. After the block was removed by T-mobile Tech Support, I tested working texts from Bank of America and US Bank. Thank you Jenny!

If you want to test if you're getting blocked, text HELP to 872265 US Bank. If you get "Service access denied" you probably have the 3rd Party Services block and need to contact T-mobile Tech Support.

I have a Nokia Lumia 710, and have been having the same issue.  Customer service turned off my blocking messages, however, now I have sent short codes to a couple of #'s and get Service Access Denied.

I even tried this test that someone else had tried below, and got service access denied.  Any ideas?

@rickg12: Keep calling back to T-mobile Tech Support. Take notes on who you talk with and what they've had you done so far. Be nice. If the first line of customer support can't fix it, ask if there is another level or department that can help you. Eventually, you'll get someone who knows how to fix it. It is a pain for a few days or weeks but once you get it fixed it is sweet to use your phone for communicating with business and security. Good luck.

Yes, thanks to this forum I was able to get this fixed.  Be prepared to spend a long, long time on the phone (I was on the phone all the way from Orange County to San Diego 85 miles!) trying to get it fixed.  FInally got a tech specialist that took all my phone information and said that he would submit it to their engineers. Voila! The next day it worked.

Don't believe the first level of tech support that tells you there are no blocks on your short codes texts.  Be prepared to give them times and examples of different short code texts you sent and received the "service access denied" error.

Remember...ELEVATE...ELEVATE...ELEVATE in dealing with tech support.  What a relief it is!

    Josh,

I'm having trouble with some SMS short codes on my Galaxy S 3.  I'm able to send/receive from GOOGL (46645) but not from my bank and a few others. I continue to get the "Service Access Denied" message.  Any suggestions

so, how do i get this special customer support?  customer support says that the are the highest level of support for no contract accts.  and she can find no reason why i'm not getting shortcode messages.

I have the same problem. I get "service access denied" when I text redbox (727272) and my bank. I also do not receive texts from the mobile banking system even when the website says a message was sent. How do I reach the top tier tech support? Thanks in advance.

I am,unfortunately, encountering this same issue when texting 467467 (ShopText) in the attempt to obtain free stuff. I missed out on 2 different items in just the last day. I REALLY would rather not have to spend hours on the phone when I know the cause most likely is related to my removing one of those $9.99 a month subscription thingees. Grr.

    To anyone that could help,

I am having trouble with some SMS short codes on my Galaxy S IV. I have the simple choice plan. I'm able to send to GOOGL (46645) but not from anyone else nor even redbox. I continue to get a message "Message Blocking is Active" message. I called customer service and have been told different things. Help please. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Called T-Mobile and they were able to get it working.

The first lady could not help and sent me to technical support.  This guy then said that the plan I signed up under had a block on all non-Tmobile short codes.  I asked if I was required to sign up under a different plan to remove the restriction, and he got more information after a hold.  I was not on a blacklist.  He then attempted to add me to the blacklist and then remove me to see if that refreshed it.  It worked!

    Hopefully that helps someone.

Hi Josh. I'm having the same problem now. Can you help me resolve this please?

  • 28. Re: Short Codes Do Not Work - "Service Access Denied"

I have not been able to send texts to short codes.  Regardless of the short code, I get a "Service Access Denied" message back. I've been trying one with Target and no dice. A few months ago, I tried another for a coupon deal but figured it was a one-time thing. Obviously I've been blocked from texting to short codes to some degree. I've gotten really into couponing but cannot do much because I keep getting the same Service Access Denied message...  Please help!

WooHoo. I too experienced this issue tonight. I tried to communicate with a Premium Text service and also received: Service Access Denied! I called CS and the  people there all say that there are no blocks on my line and could not resolve my issue. I did not know that I had to go through Tech Support to resolve this. Neither does T-Mobile Customer Service agents. If I had not searched the error on Google and found this forum, I would be SOL!

All CS tells you is there is nothing on their end showing any blocks or issues and sorry.

So I was armed with info and called them and referenced the T Mobile site and told them exactly what people on here were writing, that they don't know what they are doing, and I was xferred to Tech Support, w ho finally was able to get my Premium TEXT MESSAGES WORKING.
